I have a thread lurking around here somewhere on comparative casualties for all the wars we've fought since WWII. Anyone who says this is a quagmire is full of BS. We've suffered less than 1% fatalities in Iraq. While that's still horrible enough for the families who've lost people, I think the media have been showing their collective a$$es about the whole quagmire thing since day one. They need to read up on history instead of deconstructing it and revising it.

That's a pretty disgusting thing to use the sacrifices of the dead in order to grind a political axe.

I get mad everytime I think of those liberal media (your colorful metaphor here)s. People like that hold nothing sacred. Except their freedom to hold nothing sacred. Guess they never thought about who gave them that freedom in the first place. And then when we try to give that same freedom to another people they crticise and point fingers. Sounds a lot like hypocricy to me. And then to use the death of the men and women who are fighting over seas in a cartoon for a tasteless atempt at humor. This cartoon shows everthing that is worng with giving the privalige of having ones thoughts published in a major newspaper to a person that has the IQ of a milkdud.

This is something a found a bit interesting.

Take a look at the number of fatalities from car crashes and compare it to the number dying in the War.

Perhaps one could say it is safer to be a CPL behind his M-16 in Iraq.

Um, BigWorm, to say that its safer to be at war abroad than a civilian at home, that seems just completely ignorant. Try saying that to a bunch of enlisted Army/Marine guys out patrolling the streets of Baghdad or Fallujah. Don't try to downplay the number of casualties in this.

Hey there highschool student... you are talking about a marine officer... I think he knows a bit more about what those guys are going through than you do. I know you mean well, but if you want to talk ignorance, I think you are barking up the wrong tree kid.

No, not trying to downplay death. Just up playing the lethality of a Devil Dog. Marines want combat missions, listen to what the wounded Marines say when they’re stuck in a hospital stateside. It’s not about going home, they want to get back in the fight with their brothers in arms.
I know it’s a hard concept to understand, but then again it is hard for me to understand the typical liberal against capital punishment but who supports abortion on demand.

YES, YES, YES! I've yet to hear one resonable explanation for that. But, we won't go there. Could rant about that for days. Anyway, hope you guys have a happy Easter.
