Cops called to home because 'he had a lot of guns'

Guilty until proven innocent. Gotta love it. In all fairness, though, the guy is probably hedging his bets. It would suck for him to say, no, they're all fine and dandy, and then it turns out the guy's got an unregistered Tommy gun in there somewhere.

Probably a good idea if your not totally aware of every state and local firearms regulartion for where you live. Might be a big deal if your city just inacted a ban on _____ and you didnt catch wind of it.

That guy had about 10 fewer than my dad, a collector. Luckily, his neighbors aren't idiots.

^^^My guess is it was the neighbors who caused the problem in the first place either over some disagreement (payback) or fact they are "bothered" by his collection even if it is legal. If the press was really on the job, they'd dig into what the actual call was and who made it and why.

The article is down, maybe someone realized a faux pas?

It really bothers me when I hear people say something along the lines of "you can't use those for hunting." As if the Constitution enabled a right to bear arms only for hunting.

I generally believe that after the founding fathers, who had just engaged in an armed revolution against a government, wanted people to bear arms to ensure the government didn't get out of hand again...

I only hope and pray the local gendarmes (some of whom I trained 10+ years ago) do the same thing to me .... :)

Payback??? I think not ... Oh, GOD ... think of the $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ in my righteous lawsuit. :D

This must be part of the new laws in Louisiana.

WTF, O. I did not know that would be reason for the police to come to your house. And I have to wonder under why the guns were taken to the sheriffs office and not inspected on site. The moral of the story.....be a good nazi like neighbor and turn in the guy next to you.

I hope that owner gets an attorney and sues big time. That was more ignorance than I was prepared to stomach this early in the morning.

Cops = stupid. Neighbors = fat and stupid.

Most of the guys I have worked with are firm believers in good folks possessing firearms. I guess the constitution doesn't apply here.

Hmmmm. I think I see an investment plan there. Buy lots of guns legally, wait for neighbors to report you to Police and then sue the City silly. If what I remember reading is correct, the NRA will even cover your legal expenses. Say we call it the A-4 Investment Plan.

You gotta be careful with the level of "Nutjob" you exhibit. Case in point my neighbor wont speak to me or my roommate because of our "arsenal" but hes afraid to call the cops because we might "go off." I kid you not this is what he has said to my other neighbor.

Right .... fabric softener ... level of "nutjob" ....

I know you're trying to be helpful, but: .... as we speak, I am considering laying a "belt of death" with the offending fabric softener -- "lemon grass", $20 a bottle -- along the property line.

To assuage your concern .... the local cops are already aware of and onboard with the level of "hypersensitivity" of my new neighbor. :)

It would be terrible if someone launched "softener" filled water baloons at your neighbors house with a water baloon catapult. Definitely something that I would never recommend to others.
