Way too much focus on people dying. They kept the meatpacking plants open, its not full of geriatrics, and not that many have died (20 employees?) but a whole lot have gotten sick and can't work, and others don't want to get sick, to the point that they had to close plants and it is killing our meat supply chain. Farms are just killing their livestock because the meat factories can't take the animals.Unless it’s a crowd of geriatrics, I’m not too concerned. Protect and isolate those vulnerable until treatment breakthrough/vaccine/herd immunity.
Apply that to other industries that will start to open back up. Or universities. Just having a big pulse of coronavirus working through the dorms is going to be disruptive.
Keeping the distance, lots of PPE, and serious test/trace. Just saying "Not that many die" and leaving the mask at home isn't going solve the problem.
