I think there is a concerted effort by the news media, certain politicians, and certain people on AW to completely ignore and gloss over the fact that all signs point to China (with Fauci’s NIH money) making and manipulating this virus in a biolab. The name of the dang lab is essentially “The Wuhan lab for bat coronaviruses” as Jon Stewart comedically noted. So yeah, when you (and the media and politicians) blame, shame, threaten, guilt-trip, and fine Jane Smith from Smalltown USA for not wearing a mask at the local playground or wherever, or for a small business to stay open despite shutdown orders (not laws, just orders), you are doing a major disservice to the US Constitution in favor of not offending the Chinese Communist Party. Don’t get me started on the total lack of public discourse about how eating a healthy low-obesity diet with adeqaute vitamins, exercising, and getting outdoors often is scientifically proven (straight fact) to reduce COVID morbidity. But we can’t fat shame people, because that would be insensitive… even if being morbidly obese might make them more at-risk for taking a precious ICU bed (I know I know, it’s all so confusing, like who is allowed to comingle during a protest vs who is allowed to comingle during another event).

If someone knows they have Covid and comes into a nursing home or any other site and doesn't wear a mask and puts the occupants unnecessarily risk, crying "But...but...but...China!" isn't going to work. Everyone is responsible for their own actions. You can't use China as your excuse, although it sounds like you are trying to. Man up and own your actions.

I guarantee there will be lawyers who want the same thing from China that the movie industry wants...money. They'll just go after it differently.

That is the problem. We did brew Astra here. It was cheap. The gov, bet the farm on it and just made token orders with other suppliers. Then Astra was shown to have a 1 in a million death rate from blood clots. No one wanted it. Gov scrambled to get more supply of Pfizer. Order book was full, we are at the end of the list for our option. The main supply arrive in numbers Sept to Dec. Moderna is also coming. With Moderna also being a booster next year. We are also opening a mRNA manufacturing lab and we look like taking their submission. We also have Novavax coming. So come xmas we are going to be up to our ass in vaccines, but it doesn't help us now. Those that want to should all be vaccinated by now. Basically we have been caught with our pants down. Luckily we did the right thing at the start of this pandemic and have been reasonably safe. We'll see what the next 4 months brings. This Delta is a whole new ballgame.

This Delta has knocked us. They are saying they even with lockdowns, Sydney won't eradicate it this time. We need the lockdowns, along with tracing to stay with it. Till we can get high levels of vaccination.

For a bit of perspective. Florida has nearly twice the vaccination rate as Australia. Australia has about the same pop. as Florida. We have 1,300 cases. Florida has 25,000 a day

Floridians can also go outside. Crazy, I know.

@Flash how about a little intellectual fucking integrity from those that we are SUPPOSED to trust in this country? How about some info, like maybe 6 to 9 months ago that the vaccine is not perfect, yet, and will most likely require annual booster shots to remain effective, instead of "get the shot, get the vaccine, all will be better, we promise." How about Fauci standing up and saying BLM/ANTIFA riots and demonstrations were just as dangerous as the Sturgis motorcycle rally or Trump campaign event wrt to "stopping the spread. Give me a fucking break Flash, there is a LOT of evidence about WUHAN, NIH funding, and the partisan stance many so called "health experts" tried to sew into the American narrative on this subject. And they are discovering more and more, folks aren't buying it anymore.
