Why can’t it be both?
Not saying it’s “Trump’s fault” because that’s silly. But he didn’t take it seriously in the beginning. China fucked up, possibly maliciously too...doesn’t mean Trump handled it correctly.
It can be both. But if you watched that clip, you saw a SITTING United States Senator saying China did NOTHING wrong and blaming President Trump. He is literally a mouthpiece for the Chinese Communist Party. That should really concern ALL of us. And I’m sure there’s lot of folks here who agree with him. They’ve made it abundantly clear.
You also ought to watch the newsclip video our President played at the briefing the other day. No one was really taking it seriously in February, certainly not everyone who’s criticizing him now, talking heads, reporters, politicians. Nancy Pelosi has already removed the video of herself in February encouraging people to visit Chinatown because she knows it didn’t age well.
Riddle me this: if we’ve had such a horrible national response and President Trump has done such an awful job, why are our deaths per capita so low compared to Western Europe? And no, please don’t answer by responding about HK, Singapore, and SK. Our country’s culture and willingness to wear masks and the like are completely different.
Also, our national response HAS flattened the curve. We’ve done such a good job that at least 117 hospitals across America are laying off staff and workers because they’re so empty. Because they were keeping beds open for the surge that hasn’t come and honestly probably won’t. No one in NYC didn’t get a ventilator that needed one.
It’s time to smartly get back to work.
