Prosecuted for what, lying??? I agree that you shouldn't lie about your health for obvious reasons, but they're actually wasting the resources to prosecute a liar? Just send them home and make it so they can never get a job working for the public again.

A guy in my API class had courts martial proceedings started against him for lying at NAMI. He ended up just going to CG office hours, but obviously had a short and undistinguished career.

Definetly augment!!! Do it the first time your Department Head asks you to fill out the form. A reserve commission (USNR) is at the whim of Congress, i.e. if they decide to downsize your out of a J - O - B without a severence check in hand. If on the other hand, you filled out that little piece of paper and recieve notice that you have been accepted in the regular Navy (USN) and downsizing occurs or you are passed over twice for promotion then you will recieve one years severence pay. My question is, what's the future state of the pilot / NFO signing bonus?

WASTING the resources? This goes beyond lying about your health; you're defrauding the goverment just like if you cheated on your income tax. That "shall not lie, cheat or steal" business isn't just a nursery rhyme. Not in my Navy.

Don't think it's going to happen. The Navy has TOO MANY NFO's and Pilots with the retirement of the S-3 and the F-14....I haven't seen any messages on the board about ACIP. THe message is usually put out in the OCT timeframe (last year 15 OCT), but since there hasn't been a release, it probably won't happen...But you never know.

We just had an Academy guy try to DOR at CTW-6 last week. He was doing it to get out of the Navy, since he figured he would fall under the new policy. He was told he'd be getting orders to General Aviation.

Our LT in Student Control told us during FOD walkdown muster that they have used the discharge policy to the extent that they wanted to and now it is back to normal; i.e. Academy, ROTC, prior-service OCS grads will start getting oreders for GA again.

Those individuals that who fell under revised policy will still be discharged.

We were also told by our Commodore yesterday that they may be using the revised discharge policy through 2005, but apparently they are not adhering directly to it at this point in time.

Another option is branch transfer...Army, Marines, Coast Guard are all options. Chances would be slim to none, stressing the "none", that you could be a military pilot anywhere, but it's definitely a way to remain an officer.

Hey just wanted to know if you know the process of an interservice transfer? I am waiting to start API and I want to at least start to develope a back up plan in case things go to hell.
