LOL, first it was the F-22, then they decided to use the Navy unique "F/A" type designation (in light of F-22 being modified to carry 32 JDAMs in main bay amking it more useful). Then the new CSAF decided that wasn't going to happen on his watch so it's back to F-22.

Note: the press releases on Raptor arrival at Langley still say F/A-22

LOL. I'll fly whatever I can get. I'm more interested in earning my wings of gold than what I actually end up flying. Vision, a small obstacle in the long run;) .

Edit: And does anyone know why we haven't seen the F-22 with it's external stores. I'm interested to see what it looks like.

F-22 with external stores = loss of stealth ability.

There are configurations for it though.

Dont say I never got you nothing for Christmas.

Ill see If I can dig through later and find the one of a Raptor with external Tanks.

It's one and the same although this is one of test airframes likely from Edwards (note extra probe on nose with all sorts of measurment devices).
