I actually think this is a master stroke by the USAF.

47.

On the Periodic Table of Elements, the Atomic Number of 47 goes with Silver.

Silver.

The same color as US Air Force Wings. A beautiful precious metal for such a beautiful set of Wings.

Yeah, yeah... all of your songs about "wings of lead"" and all of that shit... you sound like a bunch of jealous 17 year olds.

Dont get me wrong! Naval Wings are fantastic and cool too!

And when the F-79 is developed, you too can have your day in the sun.

That is all.

p.s. yeah, the 1947 thing too.

Interesting how? - like how to house all of their tech reps demanding a stateroom and space for their proprietary equipment......
Interesting like when we have to red stripe a platform it doesn't take down 85% of the fixed wing portion of the CVW like it does now. Contractors can ride on the robo supply CV in the rear. We'll call them when we need them.

Which is a lot for a variety of reason. Yes, a red stripe is a risk, but I would argue FMC rates are better under this construct.

Sure. I could also argue that the full mission capability 3 Rhinos are capable of may be less than a flight consisting of an F-22, F-15E, and an A-10. There's an argument and counter argument for every decision. In an ideal world our platforms are modular so we can take advantage of both specialization and standardization.

I'm still convinced that the A-12 was never cancelled and is the real world stand in for the F-302 from Stargate.
