No I got a PRO-Y for SWO but it was my 2nd choice so I had to wait to hear back from CEC. I got PRO N on my first CEC board (Nov 2014) but they wanted me to come back for a 2nd time then I got PRO N for the 2nd time (Jan 2015) because of my interview. I really wish it was a formal interview and not a phone one. It was also out of the blue and no warning and I was half a sleep during the interview (0800). But hey stuff like that happens in the Navy all the time. Have to be always ready I guess.

Yep. I was thinking of declining SWO and shoot for CEC again but I think they will not take me again if I decline the SWO slot. It will be my biggest regret if that happens. I also want to be a Naval Officer first and CEC Officer 2nd. I'll just work my butt off as a SWO, get my pin and lateral transfer.

I'm use to waking up early as I work in construction (civil engineer) and I did ROTC in college. I was just jobless during that time and enjoying my staycation lol.

I would guess your GPA had a big part to deal with the Pro N, they can be very picky, my guess is the first time you did well on the interviews but your GPA led them to pass on you, but good enough for them to take another look, but then the next round was probably still very competitive which led to the second "N"

I had several candidates that had GPA's in the mid to low 3's and every time the accessions officers said they were concerned about the low GPA, but would see how they did on the interviews.

When I called the accession officer why I wasn't selected. She told me because of my lack of leadership. She told me that she praised me as "I would leave my sailors behind when s*** hits the fan" which really angers me. I even asked her during the interview if she had any concerns or comments about my qualification and she said no. I would gladly give up my life to the sailor/soldier beside me.

Are you from NC too? I go through the Raleigh recruiting office and the recruiter I work with is great. Stays on top of everything. He's a retired enlisted guy though, so I don't know if that makes any difference lol

That would also help to a "N" but I had several with high GPA's with little leadership experience and they were picked up, I also had one with a lower GPA about 3.2 that had quite a bit of leadership and she was picked up.

Your lack of leadership may have been the deciding factor but your GPA wouldn't have helped..... we had a kid who's GPA was a little bit lower than yours, college athlete, leadership in fraternity, leadership in church, leadership in schools engineering society and had an uncle that was a flag officer in the CEC (gave him a LOR too), he was a "N", the accessions officer said they had too many guys that were all that and a good GPA, and they need to make sure they pick those that shouldn't have any issues getting into a Master's program.

CEC can afford to be very picky.
