I moved up to whiting in JAN when PSD decided to stop paying per diem. I did not get the per diem from the transition nor did I get any for API and the travel people at PSD never seem to answer the phone. Any suggestions? Looks like I might have to make the long drive down there.

Do you want a phone #? I'm doing jack $hit next week and I'd be glad to help in person but I don't know how much I can do w/o some of your personal info. I do have the numbers of everyone in the PSD office who could help you....I must say I'm surprised that nobody at Primary/Whiting has helped you out...what gives? Let me know if I can help!

Well I've been down here since February and I have follow on orders to Whiting (single/non-prior), but hearing that they might still trash my orders and send me to Corpus has me a little nervous. I don't really mind going to Corpus if thats where they want to send me, but I was considering moving to a place near Whiting so I would be closer for primary. I don't really want to move out there and commute back to NASP for a few weeks only to have then tell me that I'm not even going to Milton. Any ideas how I could find out now if I'm going to have to go to Texas?

I can't remember the name of the civilian in STUCON that handles all of that but... Just ask. Might be worth a shot. When I checked into API I went to his desk when he wasn't really busy and just asked if I could go to Whiting if any slots were open when I class up. If not, no big deal I would be happy to go to Corpus. Turns out I was the only single guy without follow on orders in my class to go.

Yeah talk to him (not sure if its cool to post names on here or not), he's in the Flight Management office. Until you class up, they won't know for sure, but I will say I talked to a guy the other day who was in your same shoes and his orders had been re-burned for Corpus, all after he had bought a condo in P'cola. So I would hold off on any home purchases for now if I were you, but that's just me. You could always rent out if you did have to go to Corpus, as there would probably be a decent market if you found something good near Whiting.

Are we talking about Gxxxxx? I could definitely ask him. I wasn't planning on buying, just renting up there, however I don't want to move all my stuff up there only to have to move to Corpus a few weeks later. I also had a PCS move down here so I was wondering if I would get another one to Corpus, since they said you only get one a year?...

You get as many PCS's as you need.

I had 4 PCS moves last FY. DLA for each as well (although at a reduced rate for 2-4)

Feb 07, NS Mayport to NAS Corpus
May 07, NAS Corpus to NAS Kingsville
July 07, NAS Kingsville to NAS Corpus
September 07, NAS Corpus to NAS Kingsville

DITY Move and DLA for all 4 moves.

Though that is probably the case MB, I believe I was told the same thing that xmid heard, at some point. Lot's of bad gouge going around down here, even in official capacities. If I'm not mistaken you will at least probably not pull DLA from this one (even if you go to Corpus) since this would be your 1st PCS w/o any prior service (and API doesn't count). At least that's how PSD described it to me.

Oh yeah, and it is Gxxxx who I'm referring to, although it probably wouldn't be a bad idea to go straight to the man himself Mr. N. and see what he can do.

PSD is FOS.

If you PCS to a location in CONUS, don't occupy Gov't housing, then PCS to another CONUS base without occupying govt housing, you are entitled to DLA.

Where Xmid PCS'd there, he should get DLA if he PCS's out.

Whiting is PCA orders from NPA I think, then no DLA in that case.

Talked to PSD Travel office. Travel claim from Jan said no per diem, but it turns out I am/was authorized perdiem for API. Ill keep everyone posted as to whether or not it all goes without hiccups and if I get reimbursed.
