PM sent!I'll set up a private DCO '22 group on Facebook, shoot me a DM with your information and I'll add you to it.
Any 1815 groups out there for comms?
I do not have Facebook anymore; is anyone creating a Linkedin group? But be sure to remember Uncle Sams OPSEC.
I'm really sorry to hear it.. I was rooting for you and I'm sure others were as well. Are you going to try the OCS route? Or stick with DCO?I finally got an update. Not selected. Best of luck to the other candidates!
100% this. I think FB groups are okay but please keep them private. Not sure if LinkedIn groups are open to the public. Point is, please try not to advertise your selection publicly on FB / LinkedIn. You don't want random Chinese and Russian folks to be messaging you out of the blue, which is what has happened to some of my friends who have publicly advertised their selection.
Gatordev said:For those that come here looking for assistance and information on the IWC program (and really, this goes for other programs, as well), you need to understand why and what this forum is for. To put it simply, it's to share the gouge and help each other out.
What it's not for is for someone to come in, get what they want, and then disappear and not help the next person, even if that help is just reading previous posts.
So in an effort to not create additional workload while also educating you, the IWC candidate, please understand this: You are posting on a public forum, and once it's posted, regardless of what happens to your account, it's cached on the internets forever. And spoiler alert, even if something is "deleted," it's only removed from public view.
If I were to believe every new IWC Ensign, it would seem they all are going to Tier 1 units on day one.
BLOB: don't be a check-valve, don't post personal stuff you don't want on the internet, and don't use your actual name.

Have you thought of enlisting in the Reserve as an IT? You are going to have a much better chance at getting commissioned as an IP if you go this route.I need to think about I just applied to an IT Manager position that opened going to give it a shot.

Are you competitive for OCS in any designator?I would rather go the OCS
Air Force is extremely competitive. Went through 4 recruiters for active duty and reserve and none would work with me unless I committed to a flying billet. They are really not picking up many non-rated civilian applicants. Are you competitive for OCS in any designator?
Also, have you thought of the Air Force?
The Navy DCO boards, for IP, care about stupid certifications, advanced technical degrees, and work experience in fields that people are never going to use. Don't take it personally.
