FY 22 IWC DCO Reserve Board

Hi everyone - Does anyone have a recruiter who could potentially share how they received or were able to look up results? The recruiter I'm working with still hasn't heard anything back but also seems to have not been very up-to-speed on the DCO process (i.e. conveying that the Board hadn't convened when it actually had). I'm 99.9% sure I will be a no, but there are other candidates under this recruiter I'm talking to who I'd love to see receive a Pro Rec Y. Thanks.

I do not have Facebook anymore; is anyone creating a Linkedin group? But be sure to remember Uncle Sams OPSEC.

100% this. I think FB groups are okay but please keep them private. Not sure if LinkedIn groups are open to the public. Point is, please try not to advertise your selection publicly on FB / LinkedIn. You don't want random Chinese and Russian folks to be messaging you out of the blue, which is what has happened to some of my friends who have publicly advertised their selection.

I finally got an update. Not selected. Best of luck to the other candidates!
I'm really sorry to hear it.. I was rooting for you and I'm sure others were as well. Are you going to try the OCS route? Or stick with DCO?

I lurk on this board but finally got around to creating an account. Please be mindful of sharing!

Re-posting something that Gatordev said over in this thread:

Gatordev said:
For those that come here looking for assistance and information on the IWC program (and really, this goes for other programs, as well), you need to understand why and what this forum is for. To put it simply, it's to share the gouge and help each other out.

What it's not for is for someone to come in, get what they want, and then disappear and not help the next person, even if that help is just reading previous posts.

So in an effort to not create additional workload while also educating you, the IWC candidate, please understand this: You are posting on a public forum, and once it's posted, regardless of what happens to your account, it's cached on the internets forever. And spoiler alert, even if something is "deleted," it's only removed from public view.

If I were to believe every new IWC Ensign, it would seem they all are going to Tier 1 units on day one.

BLOB: don't be a check-valve, don't post personal stuff you don't want on the internet, and don't use your actual name.

Have you thought of enlisting in the Reserve as an IT? You are going to have a much better chance at getting commissioned as an IP if you go this route.

What the Navy feels is competitive for IP for the DCO process is abject stupidity vis-a-vis what Reserve IP's actually do for work during the drill weekend and such.

I've thought about it as a last resort. I would rather go the OCS route next year my wife and kids are supportive. I want to get into a leadership role as a career and less technical I've been technical my whole life. I'm willing to change career serve in the military living a different lifestyle in the Navy, travel the world, leading and influencing sailors it appeals to me. I know I don't have the Manager title but I don't believe that you need to be a Manager to be a leader I influence and lead people up, down, across all the time.

Ideally I could have been a highly active reservist in my current system admin position by boss is giving me the ok to do it but after the board I have the impression the USN doesn't care as much about my technical or my volunteer experience they want a leader and manager for DCO.

Are you competitive for OCS in any designator?

Also, have you thought of the Air Force? If I could go back several years I would have done an inter-service transfer to the Air Force.

The Navy DCO boards, for IP, care about stupid certifications, advanced technical degrees, and work experience in fields that people are never going to use. Don't take it personally.

Air Force is extremely competitive. Went through 4 recruiters for active duty and reserve and none would work with me unless I committed to a flying billet. They are really not picking up many non-rated civilian applicants.
