I wore full gloves in Primary of course they were so broken in, I barely noticed them. In Advanced I started cutting 2...then all of my fingertips off because I got tired of finger f'ing approach plates when the "well, were diverting someplace you didn't make a copy of" law would come into play. If anything catches fire in my cockpit, I'm getting the f out so I should only fry for a second or two! One of my instructors who will remain nameless punched out of a bird that will remain nameless. He had his sleeves rolled up and no gloves on, he walked away perfectly fine and said the NACES seat is like a lazy boy going out the top. It "was" a controlled ejection though.
