Griz, I'm ultra-MAGA and don't subscribe to the Washington "Compost", so I can't read the link. 😁And…as expected…here we are. Maybe @JTS11 is right…the whole Oval Office thing was a set up and Europe bought it.
By establishing economic ties with Russia as POTUS is talking about doing, we will help fund the other side of it.You mean Europe will have to step up and fund a European conflict? Checkmate to Trump
My post wasn't towards you, but am I wrong to say the actual America First political slogan was a phenomenon of just prior to WWII?I’m not arguing for isolationism, in fact I’m against it, but America has had “America First” isolationist since about 1900 - the dawn of America’s global navy.
Basically it says Big Ballz sent a Putin a message on X saying he has to eliminate 5% of the Russian government work force. 😀Griz, I'm ultra-MAGA and don't subscribe to the Washington "Compost", so I can't read the link. 😁
It is a pointless comparison. Not in terms of industry, not in terms of politics, not in any terms. Why not compare it to the U.S. in 1860 or Rhodesia in 1978?
No one….that’s the point. They aren’t realistically comparable.Out of curiosity, who would be whom in these comparisons?
No Griz, I'm not struggling for an easy historical comparison. I'm trying to figure out how so many professional (current or former) military officers have such a thin comprehension and appreciation for what history (time and again) can teach us.If you are struggling for an easy historical comparison try Europe in 1914 where thoughtless treaties and foolhardy escalation danced the world into its First World War, with devastating consequences.
Yes, Float Coat, you are struggling to find an easy historical comparison and Hitler isn’t it - that’s an entirely different set of circumstances. Maybe contemporary leaders actually do have a comprehension and appreciation for what history can technically us. If you really knew your history then you’d know why I recommend World War I as a starting point. No Griz, I'm not struggling for an easy historical comparison. Am I also to understand from your post that the US/European/NATO support for UKR is a "thoughtless treaty"?
