Tracer...HAH! Hadn't heard that handle (or cruised with E-1s), since '61 0n TICO. I remember the first time I heard the Tracer described as a "Tracker, being hi-jacked by a Flying Saucer"! I guess that could apply to the E-2/C-2??

The D's have a higher max trap weight than the C, so a different ball call was required. Somehow they settled on "Tracer" when VX-20 first took them to the Boat.

Nobody asked me, but I preferred "Cadillac", in honor of the original AEW Project Cadillac during the Big War. Plus, this sucker is totally a Caddy - fat, slow, chrome-plated tons of all-American vehicle.
