There are fins that "pop" out upon exiting the tube and this imparts a spin like a bullet but once shot there is nothing to guide rockets to the target other than a solid profile and a well aimed shot. There are laser giuded rockets in development but in my personal opinion if they just spent that money on more rockets to train with we would probably get the same results, lasers dont like dust and explosions etc.

I thought this was going to be like watching fat-chick porn... you know... "mother walrus going "thwap, thwap, thwap".
@ Bubba: Hater. Vertrep is some of the best flying I've ever done.
Aaaand we need more remedial movie quote training. Not really a classic, but still . . .

"This is hockey, OK? It's not rocket surgery!" :D

The newest 60R sideflaring to a landing at the factory. I believe the fleet is taking it down to NHA next week - and maybe stopping at Boat School this weekend as well.

That's not a sideflare.. At least not a good one.

I can't speak for the 60S, but I can see where aggressive sideflares can cause main beam cracks on the B/F/H/R series.

And..... an HSL-guy can tell how good a sideflare is from a still picture taken when the aircraft is almost in the hover?

That could be just a slide. I was expecting to see the belly of the helo when you said side-flare.

(a good side flare would probably break the 60B 45AOB limit, not sure if the R has same restriction)
:D

It does, but not before it broke the 35 kt sideward flight limit.... I think we can all agree that a pig like an R (even low on gas) is never going to do anything a phrog guy would call a "good" sideflare.
