was a legendary brawl in there between the Jet and P-3 guys when they first showed up from Moffett which resulted in a skipper being relieved.

Youre kidding, right? P-3 guys and jet dudes fighting? Over whos better? Wow....i learn something new everyday on AW. Maybe u could elaborate more on this Brett.

Is this common? That is, the rivalry actually morphing into a fist fight?

Never seen a same service platform brawl. I HAVE "seen" some interservice ones.

No, it isn't common.

Only brawls I have seen is everyone at one time or another against the F-15 guys at Kadena. Intramural brawls are usually behind closed doors after K courts etc.

And then it seems to always be company grade vs. field grade... Gotta get your licks in when you can! ;)

Hardly ever seen that it is usually best of friends going fisticuffs then not remembering any of it the next morning. Once in a while you stack a major or two.
Then everyone chips in to pay the damage to the Yuma Q.

I just turned 23 and decided to go back to school and really want to get into a flight program. I am really, at this point, trying to figure out what the maximum age limit is to be accepted into a Navy flight program. I was also wondering if having a private pilots license will help. At this piont I think I would like to fly jets, but am keeping an open mind because I just want to fly. Any info would be great. Thanks all.

You have plenty of time. Get your 4 year degree and you'll be in PCola by 27...no age waiver req'd...Poly Sci to fly baby...

Ironic that this was posted right b4 you:

You can go jets if you want, but helos are the greatest machines ever that really aren't supposed to be able to fly.

As for the private pilots license, I don't know if you'll have to go through the IPS or not, as it wasn't in existance b4 I got my a$$ handed to me on FAM 1...but I'd imagine that the Navy would be happy to waiver ya...

Good luck and to fly is human, to hover, divine...:icon_tong

Since you're going there, I'm pretty sure the Blues get to haul around more hot media and Hollywood tail (I mean, Gretta Van Sustern? Come on!;) ) then all the other services and platforms combined. I'm pretty sure they fly jets.:D

Brett

Yes, but if we're going to include special units, the HMX-1 guys get to haul around those fabulous Bush twins.
