Jameski-
Hey man, I just went through the process for the second time before getting Pro-rec'd for pilot.
The first time I went throught the whole process was back in '02 and my scores were not all that competetive. My GPA barely qualified me, but my test scores were 7/6/7/58, I think. Anyway I thought I was good 'cause my recruiter was blowing lots of smoke, and I thought with a triple engineering major and a minor they couldn't turn me away. I was blown away with a no.
I reapplied. I spent the last two years in grad school. I retested with your scores exactly. I was a little cold as my recruiter emphasized the vulnerbility of those scores (plus they everaged my grad GPA with my undergrad GPA, and that was not too good for me).
I switched recruiters and retested (the other guy retired). Scored much, much better and wrote a love letter to the navy for my personal statement. You can retest after 3 months, study and kick ass. Write a well crafted personal statement, and if it has been 3 months by the time your app is complete, retest. Good Luck, and stick with it!
My recruiter also suggests applying right when the new slots for the year open, or as close as possible. Unfortunately they open in October, So apply now, and reapply then.
