IWC Board MARCH-01-21

Are you planning to take IP even though you wanted Intel?
Yes, I will. Right now I'm feeling lukewarm because it seems like a more drastic leap from my current career (health policy analyst for state government) and I was hoping to maintain more of my current skillset. Idk what about my package they liked for IP. I minored in Information Systems, but that doesn't seem like enough.

It would not surprise me if they saw that minor and assigned you IP. My experience has been similar to that narrow vision for what qualifies.

Are they trying to rapidly expand the IP community or something? Interesting you were picked up without even listing it as a choice, and despite having what seems to be a more Intel focused background.
IWC has done this for years, if they like your application and you can fit in another IWC designator they will put you there, his minor in IS probably helped them decide to make him an IP

I applied only for INTEL. Not real interested in IP, CW, or other ICW MOS. Personally, I’d rather go unrestricted line officer with SWO than go IP/CW. INTEL is the only MOS I’d accept a restricted officer position for. Especially since I have zero experience with computer science/information systems.

Yup, guess it's nice that there's so many designators combined in a single board so they can shift apps around if they feel there's a good fit as opposed to rejecting people and having them to reapply in another 6 months.

So im poli sci with a certificate in International Studies, could that potentially be helpful for Intel?

What may kill me is I was a terrible student in 2006 when I started college. My 3.87 was tanked by my 2.2. I addressed it in my statement though, so I hope they look past it.
With your Sec+ and Masters completed
Man this IP surge is making me hope they don’t just flat out reject me. I would like to get IP, need some good news :(

The community is undermanned.
Awesome news, you have some time to get everything sorted.
a little too much time. Tired of waiting lol
