might be more ppl that can speak better than me but I really think its needs of the Navy at that time. Talking with some Navy Pilots couple years ago they said "navy either has way to many or not enough" so my guess is the boards way that in their descions.

The pro-rec is the step where the board looks at your application along with everyone else's and gives you a yes or no. Final select happens after you've been cleared medically and is when you get a date to report to OCS. Getting the pro-rec is the bigger deal, because that's the competitive step where most people get cut. After that, you're on your way final select and OCS as long as nothing bad happens.

Edit: I mean, uh, use the search function.

The numbers are not relative to each board nor is there a reocurring pattern some months 4 out of 30 other months 15 out of 50 you never know. As of late they have been picking up lots of folks. I am sure this will lead to smaller numbers as the year progresses.

Thanks for the answer. I actually have searched, but wasnt able to find anything definitive.

Does the pro-req selection not include PFT scores? I was under the impression that the selection board viewed everything relating to an application (gpa, astb, pft, etc.), and then made a decision. Am I mistaken? Thanks again.

The PRT doesn't factor in to your professional selection. It is part of the final selection process. You may or may not have it completed prior to Pro-rec but it doesn't play a factor.

SNA Final Select
do you guys know generally how many people get selected for SNA in a given month? an approximated number is what i'm looking for...

This month there were 27 SNA slots given out. Not sure about SNFOs and SWOs. The June board only had 10 SNA slots to hand out. Like someone pointed out, it varies month to month.

My third time applying, got my pro-rec as an SNA.

GPA: 2.6 (BS Aeronautical Science)
ASTB: 8/8/8
OAR: 62

Already have my physical and prt done, hoping to get my final select within a week or two. Seems fairly quick but apparently my processor feels it can be done... I guess the sooner the better.

Xmid, Wheels and Guim13, good luck with the final select and keep in touch about class dates. I was told there are still some spots left in the August 18th OCS class, not sure how long they’ll be available with 27 SNAs just selected. Cheers to all!

I'm doing all the stuff for my findocs this weekend. Did you have to schedule an eye exam with a civilian doc?

I'm pretty sure it's not required. I went ahead and saw a civilian eye doc before my physical just in case I needed a second opinion. Turned out I didn't, but it never hurts to cover your ass right?

Hey Wheels, I had knee surgery exactly a year ago. Depressed tibial plateau fracture in my left knee. Had to get a screw put in but I'm just about back to 100% now. Processor said the waiver isn't going to be a problem. Hope you experience the same. What kinda surgery did you have?
