You mentioned that you might be thinking "short-term, NFO; long-term, law." Pursue whichever option you deem best, but to make it through that 1L year, you're going to need to wrap your mind around "short-term, long-term: law, the law, and the law."
That 1L year is no joke, trust me. Been there, done that. Moot Court, Class Senator, SBA Board, intramurals, I did all of it. If you're going to last, you're going to have to WANT to become a lawyer. Personally, I'd fly. As long as you're otherwise qualified, the law will wait for you--the cockpit won't. Best wishes, regardless.
