Yeah, you find out later that the staff has a very, very good sense of humor and some of the more painful/demeaning activities are the ones that are remembered as the most "fun" later on.

Our class chief had a knack for popping out of the woodwork and when no one immediately called "Attention on deck, standby!" He would lope into the middle of the room and yell "WELL! You better say somethin!!" (he would do the same thing if he asked a question without an immediate answer) after which we'd get beat for a little bit. He loved to "play games" as it were. one of the funniest, most awesome guys I've met in hindsight......

Rumor has it that he would often be talking to senior classes (with whom he can "turn it off" so to speak for a while and talk to you as a human being) and he would see a junior class marching by trying not to be seen and tell the senior class, "hold on a second, watch this!" and go out and play out the aforementioned scenario to the junior class with the senior class watching in amusement....

These are some seriously fond memories looking back.

I wonder how funny SERE will be in retrospect...:eek:

Stick your hand up when they ask for volunteers, get your classmates to vote for you and then don't give your class team reason to hate you and veto the class' vote.
It won't happen till week 2 so you'll have time to make an impression.
