Hello gentlemen, Id like to start off by first apologizing again to all I disrespected on this great forum and specifically this thread. 'Phrogpilot73'is right, I haven’t even proven I can go through a summer OCS yet compared to so many of you on here whove accomplished much more than me. I must also say I didn’t know ‘Phrogpilot73’ was an officer. Most of the men I come into contact with on this site are either in the USMC applicant phase, enlisted personnel with aviation knowledge,or candidates. I also know there are quite of few on this site who are just relatives of naval aviators. The only person that crossed my mind as an officer was phrogdriver, since he was the only one who came and stated his position as an Osprey pilot. Many people may have a type of aircraft in their username because of various reasons, not because they actually fly that jet or achieved the honorable naval aviator status. Since no one else stated their experience or position or answered my question, I assumed most the other guys who commented on this thread were my peers, rank, or closer to my age. Its my negligence for not checking profiles and paying more attention to detail. Either way I responded in an embarrassing way, therefore I should take whatever consequences come my way for my actions whether in OCS or divine karma. I think that’s fair and I believe in that philosophy. I have a problem with patience which I allow to get the best of me sometimes. I also have a tendency to get carried away with my jokes. And my delivery can come across strong and not the intended way. They did a study and a man made a statement over email (internet), his superior didn’t take to well to it and called him rude basically. The same man made statement over phone, and the superior thought it was good joke and was pleased etc. (This is paraphrased, which I could find the actual study) But the point is over the internet we all have to be careful with each other, because its hard to measure another person’s tone sitting across the computer. Although I have legitimate frustrations and sent messages to other members questioning giving me a bad reputation, it was never a point where I was totally serious or was trying to put anyone down, especially if I knew I was talking to other officers , lol. Who in there right mind would do that?? I mean I knew we were all heated in the moment trying to make our points, but I never saw it as that serious honestly. Im was talking on this thread like I was talking to my peers. I use different vernacular when Im around my buddies or people around my age, than I adult an adult or superior. So when I saw I was banned, I was very shocked because to me its just like conversating with the guys in joking way, when we all get on each other , go hard on each other, and make fun of each other. No one is sensitive because we realize theres a mutual understanding. When we carry on like that we really mean no harm to each other, its really a form of male bonding. No Im not a troll, once again. My name is Jamel L. Jackson and I live in Birmingham, Alabama. My picture is in my profile. Like i said before, I have no reason to hide anything, Im a pretty open person even though Im busy I always try to make time for others and to make everyone feel important. I don’t have time however to be a troll lol. Theres not enough time in the day. I work fulltime, go to school fulltime, taking helicopter lessons, taking airplane lessons, volunteer/humanitarian work in community, doing stuff with the Marines almost every week and my local pool events, and finding time to workout 5x or more a week. I also have the advantage of living in Alabama which is home of Huntsville only hour a way from me, so Ill be starting internship parttime with NASA soon as well. Between all of this and politicians wanting to meet for lunch every other week it seems, I really don’t have time to be a troll, lol I really don’t. I could have chosen to be in any profession in the world, that would earn me more money or be lot more ‘safer’ and less ‘risky’ but I chose to be a Marine and fight along side you men and defend our Country. I could have chose any other branch in the military, with bribes of bonus money just for initial signing of $12,000, but I turned them down to be a Marine, because I believe it to be the most honorable thing one can achieve. Everything Ive done to this point Ive earned, sweated, and bled for and no one has given anything. And from what my father instilled in me, no matter what, don’t ever expect anyone to. Im under the impression many of you guys think Im cutting corners or being lazy by not searching old posts. Its not that at all, its just I know things change all the time and I was looking for the most accurate information so I can compare options and have a realistic idea of what to expect when I get out into the field. When I become an officer there will be an old chap wanting to know same type questions 10years from now, and Im pretty sure the game would have changed even more then. Now that I see you guys are totally serious, I just want to end this right now. I don’t believe in arguing, putting down someone else (outside of joking), or being disrespectful, that’s below me and I believe its below you guys as well. Im under the impression the Marines is supposed to be like a fraternity better yet a brotherhood. Although we may have novices in here now or below your rank, you never know when you need them down the road or they will be in the position to save your life. I think you guys have the wrong opinion on me and what kind of person I am, and that my fault. We all have similar values, its why we chose to become Marines. So many times we focus on the negatives and not the positives, this site as helped me more than any one single entity out there. And my satisfaction outweighs my frustrations. But this thread has gotten off subject and I was just like to get back to the original topic. I appreciate you guys for allowing me to be a member of this site and all the good information thus far. Keep up the good work. From a military standpoint thanks for your service.
