I thought the GPA requirement minimum was 2.2 but was later corrected that the GPA is now higher and I think around a 2.5. I don't think that will help you sleep at night but until it is confirmed by your OR or several other reliable sources I would think you are alright if your OR is putting your package in. To answer your question more directly I have seen a couple of stats of individuals picked up sometime ago with around a 2.2 but I can't remember how far ago that was. Good Luck to you as well!

Thanks for the reply. Yeah I was told my GPA was submittable. I guess I will put this 'well rounded' thing to the test. Haha.

Oh boy, I don't like what I am seeing here! There are more and more people posting! You know what that means right? The more people you have the more it is going to look like the Bell Curve at board time. So, for those of you that don't study thermodynamics, that just means that if you fall out of that peak by a little bit, your chances (mine too), drop sharply. It is not that we don't have a chance to get picked up, it is just overwhelmingly likely that those at the top will get picked up. Think of it this way; if you bring in a cup of coffee into the room the coffee will eventually get to room temperature, however it is not a law, in fact it is possible that the room can get to the coffee's temperature if you repeated the 'bringing in coffee into the room process' over a long time(i.e. the age of the Universe 13,000,000,000 years). I don't know about you, but I don't have that kind of time. So, what I am saying is that according to thermodynamical statistics, those at or near the well-rounded person concept, have the best shot! Are you one of them?
Well, if you believe in statistics, getting rejected here is not the end, it just means that you have to repeat the process again.
Gosh I am board, waiting sucks!
Good night!!!

Question: Will there be April SNA or NFO boards? What will the next boards be? My recruiter told me that today was the last day to submit my package for March, but he was out of the office due to a family emergency.

I'm getting a CJ degree now from Tx State (May '10 grad), and i've seen several pro-recs from CJ degrees since i've been lurking around this site. Its all about getting a good GPA in something you're interested in. My recruiter says getting a high GPA carries a bit more weight than getting high ASTB scores. Better to be successful over a 4 year period getting your degree than a 2.5 hr period taking a test.

my stats have been posted so many times before but here goes number 3, remaining positive!!

24m
SNA NFO SWO
5/6/5 46 or 47

Lots of extracurriculars, all had leadership positions in. A few honors: MVP, presidents list, best at this, excelled at that, etc etc.
Have to re-do my PRT because its been so long since I did it, but I will pass it.
Come on whole person aspect!!

GOOD LUCK TO YOU ALL!!

More like a 6 year period for me. I get ragged about my "BS in BS" when the subject of college comes around during "Alcohol-induced morale building" back home with my buddies who were in the Navy.

SpaceApe29:

Are you still in theater? If so I am not far away (relatively). Obviously can't mention where but it's the second shittiest place to be right about now. Hope all goes well for you on these March boards. I know it has been torture on me playing the "waiting game" while out here in the DIRT. It seems to be too easy to let the forum speculation get the mental thoughts going. Every day is the same routine and they don’t tick by fast enough. Take it easy out there.

Back in the USA.

Nah, I'm back. The unit here that I got sent to doesn't deploy much. The furthest I've gone in the last 2 years is Honduras or other states for Airborne jumps, thank god. My old unit's AO was Afghanistan so I've just always managed to go there back when nobody outside of the military cared for that bunghole of a country. No real FOBs like Kuwait or Iraq just a mud-hut on top of a mountain and a lot of paranoia. Stay low, stay safe, and I'd be honored to class-up with a fellow dirt-sucker if we make it.

a little light on extracurricular activities, but I had a job during college where I was virtually on-call during nights and weekends.

my application has been pushed back to April. pretty much, my oso thought that based on my not stellar final gpa and that this is the first board of the new fiscal year it would be a good idea - i.e. tons of over-qualified applicants from months of accumulated applications will result in only the very highest scored (gpa, oar, sat, etc) persons being selected. this said regardless of the 'whole person' concept (which generally I think is a 'feel good' measure that has little impact on any application process military or civilian). those such as myself are better off waiting one month where there will be more navigable competition.

based on what i've seen here he is 100% absolutely right. its agitating to wait longer, but, getting in is far more important. all of you have such excellent stats that I hope you do get in because it'll be a pleasure to serve with such people.

I hope you are wrong my friend, actually I hope that they are not that stupid to just look at scores from tests that really don't tell you much anyways. Plus, how do you take someone in an art major with a 4.0 over a Physics guy with a 3.0? I really hope they don't do that. If they do, the retention rate must suck in the officer ranks.

Best of Luck, and don't get down on yourself by looking at all of these stats.
