Yep.. it's like the whole "quality spread" thing. Even the Marine Corps has to take some of the 'special' kids.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!! Just when I was beginning to like you, I find out that you went to the dope-smoking junior college in Austin!

Now I have a good idea who you are, though.

I couldn't help the Aggie crack. I'm married to an Aggie so I'm cursed to here "Whoop" then "Oh god" for the rest of my life....

The NSS has changed, considerably and for both services. Keep in mind, the cut does change. Literally, during times of feast or famine. We are in a time of impending famine.

I did not realize that EVERY pilot had an 8 year commitment. I thought props and helos only had six after designation because of the time to train was shorter.

Insane
My contract states that helo pilots have a 6.5 year commitment after winging, and fixed wing pilots have an 8 year commitment after winging.

I have no idea about NFO's though.

Interesting, cause I'm a helo pilot and mine said 8 years.

I think that the OSOs (and navy recruiters) have some stan issues still. I had an 8 year contract (6 helo or prop), but I knew guys that had 6 or even 4 year contracts that came in after I did.

I didn't care. I would have signed anything they put in front of me for the chance to fly in the Marines.

I thought in general, at least for the Navy, it has always been a score of 50 NSS to get jets or E2/C2 but will adjust +/- depending on needs. When I selected, they were taking guys/gals with 48 NSS for strike or E2/C2.

Yes, NFOs have a 6 year commitment after wings...

And yes, this does explain a lot about squeeze. Only at UT would someone be so stupid as to willing make a hand signal that in most countries is... errr.. an invitation to intercourse...

Nuff said there... lol

When I selected, it was 48 for E2C2 and 52 for jets.

As you can tell, my 67 did not help versus the helo draft. They pulled 3 of us out of T44 Ground School to go to South Park.

7 Year Contract BTW.
