I posted this in the "Flooding In the South Going to Affect Navy OCS Applications" thread also, so sorry if my redundancy bothers anyone, but I wanted to post this here too:

I just got off the phone with my OR, and he told me the May boards for aviation will be held as scheduled this month. He said there were some problems with the SWO boards though. However, he didn't elaborate, and he didn't tell me his source. So, just to be on the safe side, be cautiously optimistic with this news; I am at least.

I know we discussed the 17th of this month, but has anybody heard anything different as far as the board dates? Especially now that we know they are happening for sure!!!

I called my recruiter on Monday and he said they are definitely meeting for boards but they "will be pushed back a bit." I'd guess first or second week of June we'll have our results. Last week of may at the earliest?? Fingers crossed.

So is it agreed that there will be Boards this month but we'll hear the results towards the end of the month?

Is this JUST the aviation designators or SWO included?

Yea I talked to my recruiter and he said the boards were happening and that I was at them. End of the month or the first of June should be about right but who really knows. I saw where someone posted that their recruiter said just AVIATION, and the SWO boards had some problems?! I don't know what would be the difference in the two but I think they will all be held, don't see why they wouldn't be.

I would assume whatever is standard (aviation and SWO, I think). My OR said the boards "convened as originally scheduled and were not adversely affected by the flood." The reason I said "all boards convened" was because last week I posted that my OR said SWO boards might not meet this month as a result of the flood and only aviation boards would meet. So, perhaps I over-reached by saying "all" ... just meant to say this month's boards are meeting as normal.

So you are saying that the SWO board was help? Sorry for the confusion.

Sorry about all the confusion. I only applied to SNA and SNFO, so those are the only two I've been directly asking my OR about. But when I talked to him today he didn't mention any problems with the SWO boards, so I'm just assuming everything is fine on that front too. Someone that applied for SWO might want to check with their recruiter to be sure though.

I've heard 2 - 2 1/2 weeks for results to come out, but that's just a loose estimate. No one really knows for sure. It seems to be a little different each month. My guess is next week at the absolute earliest, but the first week of June is probably more realistic.

Someone that applied for SWO might want to check with their recruiter to be sure though.

I spoke with my recruiter and he said the boards were happening and I was in for them and I applied NA/NFO/SWO. So I guess if one or the other wasn't happening he would have told me. He is a pretty straight up guy plus those 3 boards are held regularly unlike Intel or Supply etc.... Just my thoughts on the ordeal.

Another question for everyone, does anyone know how the board is done? Is it just a day long or two? Do all of the people sitting on the board have to approve you or just a majority? Not that it matters, but I was just wondering what the deal was.
