I hope all the "bad economy" applicants understand that the I can't get a good civilian job motivation ain't gonna hold up when you playing in the rose garden! Haha

To be in a room all day sorting through applications all day deciding aspiring officer wannabes fates? Nothing.

I'd much rather spend my day relaxing knowing I did my part and it is out of my hands. If I wasn't at work I'd be drinking a beer right now and relaxing :icon_smil

So in a sweet stroke of irony, I was laid off at my job yesterday. The job I didn't have my boss do a DD370 for because I was afraid they'd let me go if they knew I was looking elsewhere. A few other people in my group got it as well. However, when my boss asked why I wasn't super upset, I told her about the May boards. First person I called was my OR to make sure I was being seen at the May Boards (I am!) and was told I should expect results Tues/Wed next week, with some possible upside earlier.

So until I hear, my hope is the following happens: Pro Rec SNA from the May boards (crossing my fingers my 8/8/8/66 does the trick), take my severance that I wouldn't have gotten if I had just left, and get some BS summer job until I go to Newport. PT my ass off all summer.

I thought it would be pretty funny for me to post today (as a joke) saying that I got a phone call about pro-select sna, but I'm not that cruel.

Fingers crossed...

Sorry to hear about being laid off SynixMan. My company has been pressuring me lately as well but I recently gave up caring about it. I just have to hope I get in and can get out of here now.

Ok gentlemen, Board DAY 1 complete. I've snuggled up with my bottle of 151 (typically roll with the captain but tonight needed the extra KICK.) And I've braced myself for DAY 2. God, is day 7 or Lord help me day 14 anywhere near? Well, It's going to be a heck of a ride. Good luck gentlemen and stay in high spirits....through the use of strong spirits and close friends.
