For those of you that get denied, consider this your first of many obstacles you'll have to overcome to earn your commission and those wings of gold.
There will be multiple times you will 'fail' at something on the road to earning them. Most of you will roll at OCS or fail an evolution or f*ck something up bad and your DI will ream your ass hard... Or when you get into flight school you'll down a flight or a checkride and have to stand tall in front of the man... I don't even have my wings yet and I can say this is true.
The only difference between those that make it, and those that don't cut it, is nothing more than a thick skin, a diehard positive attitude, and an absolute refusal to give up.
This holds true from the application process (what you guys are going through now) all the way till the end, and I'd imagine, much beyond.
I've found so far, that there isn't much room for feeling sorry for oneself in this business... The speed at which you can mentally forgive yourself and dismiss yourself of the failures (but learn from them) and pump yourself up for knocking through the boundary on your next shot, the better your odds (more applicable to flight school).
Persevere!
