My OR said something yesterday about the computer systems going down and for what its worth I can't get any of the Navy Recruiting District websites to come up....

I'm dreading the MEPS visit, it sounds like each station is run by sadistic personnel who are hellbent on DQ'ing every applicant.

MEPS is fine. They do treat you like a number but they certainly aren't out to DQ you at all costs. I went about 2 weeks ago and had the whole thing built up in my head to be something horrible, and it actually wasn't too bad. I was in an out in 3 hours. My only problem was that I failed the depth perception test. My vision is fine though, go figure.

On another note, it's good to see that there are others who have still not heard back yet. I applied for SWO only for the may boards and haven't gotten a call either way. Yesterday morning I emailed my recruiter and he said he had not received the results yet...its going to be an extra long 'long weekend' for us folks.

A bit about my package since this is my first post on AW (I'm slightly more active on NavyOCS):

5/5/5 49 OAR
GPA: 3.82 Magna Cum Laude
BA Spanish and International Trade from the University of Alabama in Huntsville
Applied SWO only
No Prior Service
LORs: Retired 0-9 USA, Reserve O-5 USN, 2 professors, 1 family friend and former high school teacher
Captain of high school soccer/water polo team and a few other leadership roles
Also worked circa 30 hours/wk throughout all of school.

I thought I was at least somewhat competitive? Who knows, I'm really hoping silence is not a sign of a non-select result.

I think you'll be ok cassel; my stats are virtually identical to yours. Apparently some recruiters are faster at letting their people know than others.

Thanks Revan. I checked out your stats and indeed they are virtually identical. Minus the fact that you had a 4.0! How the hell did you manage that? Congrats btw...

I just got my eye consult done which fortunately I did not have to go back to MEPS for. I'll send in the paperwork Monday and then the wait begins.

MEPS sucks no matter what anyone says... I spent 8 hours there playing musical chairs with dudes in boxers... anyone else do that and know how akward it is to absorb anyone elses ass heat?

I didn't get DQ'd but they sent my package to the surgeon general about a month ago and I still have yet to hear if I have been cleared with prilosec for acid reflux

Oh about MEPS. It will go about as smooth as it can if all your paperwork and medical history is sent in ahead of time. If you haven't gotten your medical history yet (ie surgery records) hunt those down. From what I understand, a lot of people are NPQ'd, at least temporarily, during the exam interview. That is basically when you sit one on one with a doc and go through medical history and they ask the questions about your social history and any drug history you might have.
