In order for final select, the security clearance only has to be opened, not completed. Once a investigator is assigned to your case, you are good to go as far as final select.

So I'm still working on docs for MEPS. They sent the request back to me and I'm getting more docs from my childhood arm fracture. Good times.
On the plus side, all the stuff for my background check is submitted and I'm PTing like a madman for my PRT.

The schedule had the last board on 9/15, then 'monthly as needed' IW is closed out for FY 2009 ... So no more boards for this FY. They usually start selecting FY 2010 people for boards in July or Aug.

This is no longer truly a matter of needed discussion for May boards as all results have been released. However, I am pretty sure (from reading past posts) that most (if not all) communities are selecting for FY2010 already.
Those that are getting OCS dates (March/April boards) are starting to get dates in September, which puts graduation beyond the October 1st end of FY2009.
Further, please note this post on InformationWarriors.com (the AW for IW folks) where CDR Sean Heritage who is the IW Officer Community Manager which states:

MEPS DQ'd me without even examining me because of 'fainting spells' I had when I was a kid. I provided pleanty of documentation and a letter from two different doctors saying that I'm ok now.
Any suggestions on how I can get a waiver? I am going to schedule a re-test of an exam they did on my a number of years ago called a Tilt Table Test. Hopefully if I pass showing that this is no longer a problem (which the doctors said I would grow out of) that I'll be good to go with MEPS.
