anyone currently stationed at Miramar or North Island who has access to simulators for training (any aircraft), could u pm me? i have some questions.
thx
jP
why dont u call base info? i dont know if they allow pre-ocs types to access the sims there. i remember as a mid we couldnt fly the sims since the pilots had priority. but it never hurts to ask.
Your best bet is to hook up with someone in a local squadron.

Whoa Brett, watch out with that advice there. You can get into a lot of trouble for that.![]()
You kids and your hipster terminology.

not sure if your intention is to fly the sim, but my experience w/ the sims at NAS Lemoore was:
1) You need a secret or interim-secret clearance to go in by yourself (not sure if the same is true for going in w/ an escort)
2) You would be scheduled on a time-permitting basis
3) They are pretty interesting and quite realistic (other than graphics)....and the folks who run the programs are pretty knowledgeable, helpful and are more than happy to show you a good time
That said, you would almost certainly need to have some sort of formal connection to a base command to get scheduled (whether it be a guest of a squadron, air wing, or MATSG). Good luck!
Maybe you should try these Sim's in San Diego first - they are usually available, no clearance needed, they are impressive, and you don't have to know anyone.....

Thx for the responses guys.
Main reason for this is because I want to try and get a job there. I can't think of a cooler civilian (non-flying) job than that
.
thx Catmando. I work at a similar establishment in SOCAL that uses the same software. I think they have a really cool set up inside the Midway, but man are the flight models horked out.

FYI, most of the sim operators in my community are retired platform guys with experience in that aircraft. Your chances might be limited in that respect.
