Monster Marine OCS thread: stupid questions answered here!

Not trying to be a pansy, but a woman i THOUGHT was the one for me has decided she can't bear me being away for so long and doesn't want to wait for me. We've been together now for a year next month and i leave in oct for OCC196pilot. Its pretty pathetic but i am a little shook up (memories, the future with her, etc, etc) however i was hoping for maybe a little moral uplift and some access to anyones SD blackbook ..... :icon_rage

Haha, i was actually hoping you would respond i wanted a female perspective and thats a straightfoward honest one. Thanks guys i was anticipating a barrage of sarcasm but i appreciate the ones i received. OCS is only 10 weeks but TBS is 6 months and flight school is over a year....so if she is already doubting 5 months BEFORE OCS then i should be counting my blessings it came out now and not in the middle of OCS and more than likely she wouldn't hack it the whole training and deployment. Once again thanks and any encouragement is appreciated i have no life besides training so i'm on here like every 5 minutes.

Listen to Devil Dog. You definately are a changed person once you come back from there. I broke up with the gf shortly after coming home as well. You're actually probably better off that way. The good thing is that you dont leave until OCT. It might suck a little more if it happened right before you shipped out. You get depressed enough while you're down there. Take the time and get over the shit as soon as possible.

It happened to me as well, as I'm sure it's happened to a lot of candidates on this board. I also thought I had "the one" for a while. The only moral uplift I can offer is that shit gets better; trust me. 6 months from now (especially AFTER OCS) you will be feeling like schmuck for taking it so hard.

Agree, the "feelings of hurt" are much less than what they would be when you came back from a 6 month deployment and she had packed the bags and split. At least she was honest with you and thank goodness you found out before making anything official. Where is Brett??????

Dont worry about it. Its hard to believe but you ARE capable of finding another (better) woman that you will develop the same strong feelings for. How would you feel later on in life though if you ended up passing up an opportunity of a commissioning for a girl who is probably gonna dump you over the next ambition you develop anyway.

I got a teacher too. Been with me since before I went to enlisted boot camp. Weird. You're lucky. One of my Marines in Iraq back in '03 found out through the wife of another one of the guys that his wife was bangin' some dude from out in town and spending all of his hazardous duty pay. Havelock...What a dirt hole. They must have been meant for each other.

Not to get into a dick wagging contest, but my relationship with my girlfriend of 5 years just ended a month or so ago right in the middle of primary. So I know exactly how shitty you are feeling.
