BOSTON, Massachusetts (CNN) -- Authorities have arrested two men in connection with electronic light boards depicting a middle-finger-waving moon man that triggered repeated bomb scares around Boston on Wednesday and prompted the closure of bridges and a stretch of the Charles River.

Meanwhile, police and prosecutors vented their anger at Turner Broadcasting System Inc., the parent company of CNN, which said the battery-operated light boards were aimed at promoting the late-night Adult Swim cartoon "Aqua Teen Hunger Force."

Boston officials condemned Turner for not taking proper steps to end the bomb scares earlier and for not issuing an adequate apology to the city. (Watch how the scare unfolded )

Turner Broadcasting said in written statements the devices had been placed around Boston and nine other cities in recent weeks as part of a guerrilla marketing campaign to promote the show...

I love the attorney general who described the lightboards as "bomb-like" devices, saying that if they had been bombs they would have caused major damage to transportation and infrastructure.
 
All I know is that a "Lite-Brite" peg is fully capable of crippling a grown human if stepped on. Image the fury unleashed if actually inserted in the board and powered. It'd require weapons inspection regimes and arms control talks. A fully-lit Mooninite sign may be the next step beyond the fusion bomb and may possibly mark the end of times...

You kind of have to wonder if there wasn't at least one guy on the bomb squad who said, "Hey, that looks like those guys from Aqua Teen Hunger Force. Y'know, the... On a Lite Brite. It looks like... Hey, guys? Guys, I don't think... Whatever."

This is the best advertising anyone could have asked for...pics of EOD guys carefully handling Lite-Brites!!! My question is, what color did they go to in the Homeland Security Advisory System?:icon_tong
 
On the news they interviewed some public official who was 'disgusted' and 'appauled' and all sorts of other words meaning the same thing... at their lack of 'remorse' in court. WOW... what is worse is they are probably going to get hit with serious charges as a result of everyone freaking out over NOTHING.
