I'm pretty sure I have that one. The rule of thumb I use is to divide the number of guns it says it can hold by half, and use that as a realistic number.Any gun safe recommendations from the group? Was looking at this one from TSC, but could also go for a more expensive one as well.
Damp-Rid your safe ROUTINELY.Apart from getting mold in the safe (minor basement flood) it has been great.

How did you install it - just drill a hole in the back of the safe and run the power cable through?Golden rods do a nice job, if your space isn't too humid to begin with. I also keep a dehumidifier in the room, so the outside air is maintained >45% RH.
Of course, flooding is going to be another problem entirely.

My safe came with a pre-drilled hole for the cable. How did you install it - just drill a hole in the back of the safe and run the power cable through?
You own cannon? Must be a big safe! After about 20 years my cannon safe broke; when I opened it you could feel the door shift at the hinge. After two calls and a picture, they had a similar one sent to me from Tractor Supply (after I signed my name in blood saying I wouldn't use the old one!). I was impressed with their customer service...but yeah, that's a screaming deal on that winchester safe!
