...+disability+day job pay sounds like you got a raise.
And thus the problem. Not enough total disability to get paid for it (for now) and not able to get a day job because of said disability (for now). Good times.

Shout out to Chuck for the help but finally got it today.

Was looking at ammo yesterday. Any good suggestions? CMP wants too much so checking around the web for better pricing. I would say it’s just cause I’m cheap but it’s more thrifty cause I shoot frequently and easily burn 150 rounds every time I go to the range. The cases are getting nicer - my hard case is green with simple embossed lettering. Good stuff.
Get yourself some M2 Ball and get to the range!
Thanks.. That is better than anything I have been able to find. Most everything seems to be 400 rds for about 300 bucks. I generally shoot with friends and my son so I never charge them for ammo so that is probably why I go thru more than you.If you ever find yourself up in Port Clinton Ohio, the CMP has excellent in store deals on the Greek surplus M2.
Aim Surplus here in Ohio is an excellent source:

I can shoot my AR’s all day - but about 50 rounds in the M1’s and I’m done ?
I have read reviews to that effect but honestly haven’t seen that myself. Ordered a bunch of .22lr and .223 and some magazines on Sunday and just got it 15 minutes ago. I’m a cheap airline pilot so it’s really about value for me.Well, it's Sportsman's Guide. You might see it by Sunday. Or never. Historically, they've struggled to tell the difference between those two options.
Rifle looks sharp, though! Enjoy!
I recommend folding it in half and storing it in your ejection seat pan!Shout out to Chuck for the help but finally got it today.

Just remember not to put regular old 30-06 through that rifle. Civilian 30-06 is different and has a higher load and burns faster than M2 Ball. You probably already know this but I don't want to see your pretty M1 getting jacked up.
Service grade. They were out of field grade when I submitted the paperwork so spent the extra hundred for service.@FrankTheTank , the rifle looks great. What grade? I didn't get a fancy case with my CMP Garand 8 years ago, just a cardboard box.
