Navy Ball

Making Recruiting Great Again
Chokers with mini medals is the usual getup. Academy JOs in hinge-mess are to be heckled.

Leave cover in car.

Just my opinion, but I think the mess dress uniform looks better and more suitable for Navy Balls than Chokers. If I had a cougar date, i'm very certain she'd be impressed with my mess dress than in my chokers, not to say either one will do the trick. :D

One of the few things that make me jealous of the Boat School is the fact they get them and use them a good amount of times. I wish NROTC would do the same. Oh well.

Rufio, may you never be a member of JOPA and may god have mercy on your hinge wannabe soul.

mess dress looks ridiculous. the only thing that makes it ok is the fact that by that point, you're usually too old to care so you just drink the kool aid and wear what the more important people tell you to wear.

I think chokers look great, and they have that classic and refined Navy look to them; can't describe it, but I think you know what I'm saying. I just think they look retarded with mini-medals. You should go either with large medals or just ribbons (SDW). I can see how the Dinner Dress White could be more appropriate looking for a ball.

By the way, I think chokers are better looking than mess dress, but that's just me. I happen to be taking a cougar, so I'll ask her opinion on the matter since you seem to hold women of her stature in such high esteem.

Fixed it for you. I only wore mine once (ring dance), and the only other time I ever saw someone wear it was to the graduation dance during commissioning week (which like 50 people went to). Unless you're thinking of company dining outs, to which I only remember people wearing mess dress, never dinner dress.

I haven't worn mine either since ring dance. What was hilarious was seeing my 0-5 CO rocking out his original issue dinner dress. Unfortunately he had grown a belly over the past 20 years and he couldn't even button them closed!

Besides mess dress makes for good River Dance Impressions!

I couldn't imagine what it would be like to wear chokers more like they did back during the ww2 era.
