It is 100 miles, and yes within reason you can do as you please (go to a bar/see family/whatever)

You can figure that out on your own.

As for liberty, you probably won't get it until the end of week 7. Some classes don't get any liberty till candio phase (end of week 9). If your class has a dining out you will then get liberty early (if that's how it works out). Usually early on you'll have early morning musters from 0400 to 0600 after liberty so it makes it difficult to use that 100 miles.

If you're worried about Liberty at this point, your priorities are AFU. Only 1 class while I was there got full liberty before week 7. Maybe things are different in Newport, but this is how it was for us. Oh, and it was 50 miles for us. Some folks got in trouble for going more than 50 miles....

my priorities aren't AFU at all sir. it's just because it all plays out into whether i should take my car or not. but don't tell masterbates I said that because he already told me "dont be a homo, drive your car." :icon_rage

I can't remember where I heard it, but I heard you can secure for Liberty after week 4? Is it that most classes don't do well enough(DI's decide to "love " them a bit more) or was my gouge way out of left field?

Week 3 or 4, depending on how the schedule is these days. Your whole class has to pass the first RLP inspection. Sounds easy, right?

Is is possible (in theory)?
Yes

Does it happen?
No, so don't even think about it.

You won't secure officially until after week 6 or 7.

There's now a seawall three. Some candios came back drunk and decided to mess with an indoc class while they were sleeping their first night. Needless to say they get to start over.

I just don't understand some people who screw around with things that shouldnt be screwed around with. I mean, seriously... after all that hard work, why even flirt with the idea? maybe they were dying to start over. :(

We came back from our first liberty in about 10 weeks while candidate officers and had some fun with the Regimental Messengers. Every time one of us called out "R-Mess" the R-Mess would answer with a real loud call of "SCOOT SCOOT". I don't remember the origin, but it was really funny that night. We did it for about 3 hours, laughing our asses off each time, those guys must have hated us.

So about 0530, MGYSGT comes in and goes to his office. About 10 mins later, he needs something and calls out "R-Mess!" to which they promptly answer "SCOOT SCOOT!"

PT'ing in CNT's was not fun.

Fratranizing was always a big deal when I went through. First liberty brief we had in Alpha came along the lines of, "Stay the hell away from Charlie's Angels" (What we called the female platoon members). What was F'd up was that these girls knew how nailed to the wall you would get for violating that and didnt seem to give a damn. There was one girl that handed out her phone number to five guys in front of staff and told them to call her on libo because she had a place nearby.

Why on Earth you'd risk your commission for 38 seconds of sex with a girl that would be a 4 back home and a case of the crabs I have no idea.
