Do you guys still have the term/concept of "Cinderella Liberty" ... ???? :)

Ah, the memories... Sagami Otsuka, Me, in the saddle, my buddy outside in the car honking the horn, yelling "Hey, come on man!!! It's 11:48!! Come on!!!

We made, just barely.

Yeah, unfortunately it's more wide spread now than in the old days. I assume you're asking in general and not just OCS. When I enlisted in 97 only E3 and below had it on deployment, but now it goes a lot higher up the food chain...even at your homeport if you're stationed in Japan.:(

I was stationed in Japan from 02-05. When I first got there, E-1 to E-3 had it. People kept F---g up and then E-4's had it too. If you were married, it didn't apply to you no matter what rank you were. Also, each command was allowed to give a certain number of "Blue Cards" which allowed overnight liberty. These cards were obviously given out to the guys and gals the command thought were the most responsible. If you lost your blue card because of a liberty incident, it was damn near impossible to get it back. It probably would have taken less time to either get married or make E-6 :D. I had a Blue Card as an E-4 then made E-5 so it didn't matter.

Haha! Been there, done that...trying to keep all my buddies out of trouble. Actually there was a way to cheat the system on Atsugi. If you were out past 12 am, you could stay out until 5 am and not get caught because 5 am was when they stopped checking for Blue Cards. So, the few times my friends were out past 12 am, they would just chill at one of the "buy me drink bar's girl's" houses until morning then walk on. Some of the commands would go door to door and make sure the guys who were suppose to be in their rooms were there, luckily my det never did that.

I left there in May and the liberty cards are very much alive...as well as liberty plans, driving restrictions, etc. I was an E6, married and still had a few instances of cinderella liberty, no drinking, etc. Everytime someone screwed up, we all paid. It's pretty crazy there now.

I also couldnt believe how some of the dudes were that desperate to get laid. They were a 4 at OCS. Probably the same back at home though. Looked uglier but their boobs grew back. So I guess that cancels out and makes them still just as nasty.

A bit off topic, but that reminds me of back when I was in the BSA. Every trip, every guys standards would drop. The longer the trip the lower they got.

Back on topic, I think Boston is within the 100 mile radius. I could be wrong though.

The Seawall Six come to mind....

No disrespect to you, but I still think that was fucked up for you to post that on AW RIGHT as it happened. I indoced with those 6 and they weren't bad guys. There was ONE bad apple that got 6 guys into trouble. Sometimes, things are better left private (at least until some time has passed). Either way: no harm, no foul. What's past is passed.

I disagree with BS on part of this. Even after those dudes had their 2nd chance they still did shit they shouldn't have been doing (not all but most). Not a fine example of what Naval Officers should be...

But "whats past is passed" and its above my pay grade...

Like I said..... ONE bad apple (he got attrited). Not a bad guy, just made 2 dumb mistakes which equaled him getting the door.

A second guy also made another mistake but it was not as severe and commissioned on time.
