Week 3 or 4, depending on how the schedule is these days. Your whole class has to pass the first RLP inspection. Sounds easy, right?

Is is possible (in theory)?
Yes

Does it happen?
No, so don't even think about it.

You won't secure officially until after week 6 or 7.

We secured after week three...

Nose - Good story. Wish I was there to see that go down. Never had the opportunity to RPT in the CNT's.

my priorities aren't AFU at all sir. it's just because it all plays out into whether i should take my car or not. but don't tell masterbates I said that because he already told me "dont be a homo, drive your car." :icon_rage

I see all..

And you are now a homo trying to justify car or no car based on liberty. There are many reasons to bring your car. If you did not have one it would be different.

But you are being a homo. I will ensure your DI knows.

Have a nice 11 weeks.

My class secured after RLP (it was in week 3 when I went through), lost it the following Monday, secured again that Friday because of mid-PFA, and kept it from then on out. And no, we weren't an honor class ;). The class behind us felt they "deserved" to be secured because we were and didn't achieve it until week 7 or 8. Moral of the story - don't expect liberty...earn it!

Fratranizing was always a big deal when I went through. First liberty brief we had in Alpha came along the lines of, "Stay the hell away from Charlie's Angels" (What we called the female platoon members). What was F'd up was that these girls knew how nailed to the wall you would get for violating that and didnt seem to give a damn. There was one girl that handed out her phone number to five guys in front of staff and told them to call her on libo because she had a place nearby.

Why on Earth you'd risk your commission for 38 seconds of sex with a girl that would be a 4 back home and a case of the crabs I have no idea.

I guarantee it would take me 3 guesses tops to know who that girl was

I also couldnt believe how some of the dudes were that desperate to get laid. They were a 4 at OCS. Probably the same back at home though. Looked uglier but their boobs grew back. So I guess that cancels out and makes them still just as nasty.

I knew you were going to read it sir, which is why i thought it would be funny to say "don't tell masterbates." My apologies if you didn't think it was funny. but anyway, it's not that I was trying to justify car or no car based on liberty, but seems like that's the reason why everyone tells me I should take my car... that it's useful for liberty and such. but regardless, i already decided long ago that i'm taking my car and the only reason i brought it up was to have some laughs.

If you're worried about Liberty at this point, your priorities are AFU. Only 1 class while I was there got full liberty before week 7. Maybe things are different in Newport, but this is how it was for us. Oh, and it was 50 miles for us. Some folks got in trouble for going more than 50 miles....
Salty Joboy is breakin out some "back in my day" stories already.

Ok, just so I don't miss any really good opportunities, what ARE the good reasons to take your car to OCS? Other than being able to store your iron/cell phone and extra junk in the trunk, driving your mates on liberty, and the backseat for the ladies, and not having to catch taxis to the airport for planes?

It's your car, you call the shots. Instead of having to tag along with somebody, else, make deals, whatever.

Of course...if you have a car, don't be a dick.

One of my roommate's with no car almost missed out on a piece of ass b/c of it. I was working off a real sonuvabitch of a hangover but I felt bad enough about his whining so I gave him a ride. Which leads to a funny story:

The next morning he calls me while I'm on watch to tell me she(Pcola skank) can't drive on base, so she had to drop him off at the gate. He also left his ID in the room, so he needed someone with an ID to get him in anyway. To avoid being seen by a staff member driving in(since the ice cream suits make us high vis targets) he's freaking hiding in the bushes by the gate while he's calling me.
I had to wake some people up to go out and get him, or he would've been in for a REAL bad day.

Do you guys still have the term/concept of "Cinderella Liberty" ... ???? :)
Yeah, unfortunately it's more wide spread now than in the old days. I assume you're asking in general and not just OCS. When I enlisted in 97 only E3 and below had it on deployment, but now it goes a lot higher up the food chain...even at your homeport if you're stationed in Japan.:(
