My paperwork finally got done today, had to finish it off with a Navy O-5 interview today. Sigh... I wish it went better than it did, but at least ALL of the work is done prior to OCS.

Hey I didn't have to do an interview, what is that all about? Or is that further in the process? I was told my package was already submitted.

It usually depends on your recruiter. Mine wanted to make sure that everything that can be done would be done. The board will essentially focus on your ASTBs along with your GPA. The recommendations are more of an evaluation of officer potential. I think my recruiter wanted to go ahead and do everything because I used to be an AFROTC cadet and quit after the first year, which is generally seen as a big no no in officer accession land.

Officer interviews are open to anyone, some designators weigh them more heavily than others. When applying for SNA/NFO, they don't carry as much weight but are still accepted for submission with your kit. Having an Officer interview won't hurt by any means, that is of course if you do well.

I don't mind waiting, but the possibility of having a random board at any given time is fairly frustrating. If there isn't going to be one until July just tell us lol.
Haha maybe that is the point. Think selections will be like the last few boards?

Yeah I talked to my recruiter about that yesterday actually. He submitted my kit, along with another kit the same day and the other kit made it to the board but mine didn't. I guess I missed that board by a day because headquarters held my package a little longer to verify they were allowed to submit without my conditional release being fully adjudicated. A little frustrating but while I was in the office he showed me in their system that my kit was in a pro-board status which was a pretty good feeling nonetheless.
My personal outlook is that if we don't hear anything about another board by the first week of June, they we are probably waiting until July. But hey no big deal really, the scheduled board will here before we know it.
