Navy Pilot/ NFO "Rolling" Boards MAR/APR 2013

Still that may be why it is taking longer cause I think a secret is just a computer BG check. Not to hard to obtain.
False. Even those go more in depth, as one of my best friends I served with (ET1 twigit type) holds one and they still did interviews for his. My clearance hasn't even been opened yet, I believe my hold up is likely just the navy's hurry up and wait that I'm all too familiar with.

Yeah I talked to my recruiter about that yesterday actually. He submitted my kit, along with another kit the same day and the other kit made it to the board but mine didn't. I guess I missed that board by a day because headquarters held my package a little longer to verify they were allowed to submit without my conditional release being fully adjudicated. A little frustrating but while I was in the office he showed me in their system that my kit was in a pro-board status which was a pretty good feeling nonetheless.
My personal outlook is that if we don't hear anything about another board by the first week of June, they we are probably waiting until July. But hey no big deal really, the scheduled board will here before we know it.
Ya. Just praying they have one more board with the same selection rates as these last few ones and I am in the mix.

Officer interviews are open to anyone, some designators weigh them more heavily than others. When applying for SNA/NFO, they don't carry as much weight but are still accepted for submission with your kit. Having an Officer interview won't hurt by any means, that is of course if you do well.

well actually....... I have seen one senior officer who rarely gave anything higher than 8's, he considered that good, I knew another that would never give 10's, so you can do well and it can still hurt you compared to others.

If it isn't required don't do it, it is a wildcard and it carries little weight.

Thanks for the heads up.

Going to MEPS tomorrow. Keep me in your prayers if you're the praying type. It's been a long wait for MEPS and I have a feeling that they won't be giving me a thumbs up without a prolonged paperwork battle.

I've got you covered alaurin. I got in with a prior busted up knee, (torn ACL and torn meniscus, but surgically repaired) so I know you'll be okay :D

Interm TS from my understanding, as getting a TS can take quite awhile.
You dont need a clearance in TRACOM. The background investigation etc will be initiated for you as soon as you start as an SNFO vs after you get to advanced as an SNA though.
