Please tell me you're joking. In addition to being lame, that's not even a uniform anymore.
 
Nittany - I would LOVE to rock some tropical whites. At the minimum it was a uniform with a purpose - which is more than we can say for the NWUs.

The big question though is, would MasterBates be able to wear his tropical whites to run errands on the way back to his abode?
 
The occasional weird uniform use is awesome. If I ever make command my wardroom will have an event in sdb yankee.

I'm all for a set of tripical Khakis with the pith helmet. Much more useful than the hybrid SDK's that I'll never consider wearing.

I thought these new NWU's were for SPECWAR and those working directly with them only? I've only seen 2 team guys wearing them here, but I see riverine and various other black shoe guys wearing them everyday. And I'm not talking about the SWCC variety.

That's only referring to the new desert NWUs. The woodland NWUs replace the woodland BDUs for everyone that wore them (i.e. all of NECC).

Also, if you read the message, units with "tactical need" for desert NWUs can get them, they just need to send a request up. So you can expect EOD guys in country to be getting them as well.
 
All of the recent (last few years) uniform changes have made us look so much less like sailors and more and more like a group of chodes who can't decide what service we want to look like.

What I'm interested in seeing is if they really even give a shit about wearing them. Most guys I've seen out, both Team dudes and EOD guys, have worn pretty much whatever suited them at the time. So, to expect that they will all of a sudden all start wearing the same thing is a stretch.
