Need some advice on how to go into Navy Aviation from abroad

I'm an Army guy applying from Germany so I know what you're going through!

Maybe try a stateside proxy-server? I can access the site just fine from over here in Germany and I have a TKS (TeleKom Service) connection in my barracks. Try your windows explorer settings to make sure all security protocols are allowed. That's what I have to do every time I get on either my AKO (Army Knowledge Online) or other ".mil" sites that require a CAC card.

Hey guys,

I know it's been a while and this'll probably be the end of this thread.

From what I've heard from recruiters I'm going to have to transfer or get a masters in the US.

As far as getting into the navy or just getting a job in the US my best bet is probably to finish my degree here and get a masters in the US. Partially because the loan system is much better for graduates.

I think if I do a non-thesis masters It'll only be 1 more year for me.

I was wondering about a job afterwards, do you think working for a company like Boeing would be possible? I'll phone and see if they hire exitting military because it's an awesome company.

Joining the navy looks like a really fun career and hopefully a year or 2 down the road I'll still be chasing it.

Hope all of you guys' applications are going well and good luck to all SNA and OCS candidates.

Later All!

I wouldn't give up just yet. This organization http://www.wes.org/index.asp specializes in taking diplomas and transcripts and "translating" them into their U.S. equivalents. Basically you send them your diploma and transcripts and they write a short report summarizing the equivalent U.S. degree and grade point average. If you have earned a four-year bachelor's degree in the U.K. then I doubt many recruiters have even heard of this process since it is unusual for someone to get admitted into OCS based on international education credentials. I can't say whether the Navy still accepts education reports specifically from WES, but I don't see why they would have stopped- they accepted them in the 1990s when I got in.

Something you have working against you is there are plenty of otherwise qualified applicants who have to do less paperwork than you. Just be patient, polite, and persistent.
