Making Recruiting Great Again
Dang, I'm cutting it close. My recruiter said that his processor will upload my kit tomorrow and send it off and that it should be good for the February boards...

Hopefully I have a good chance of making the board/being accepted into the Navy.

SWO/Supply applicant
25 Male non-prior
OAR: 53
BA Sociology
GPA: 3.3
LOR: Prior managers at previous work place.

Think I have a decent chance?

There's a whole thread dedicated on what's considered competitive or not.

I'm still waiting for this aviation physical...apparently 1 man in all of Virginia can schedule my appointment

And he's been on leave since December 15th
Dafuq.

I feel your pain. My aviation physical was started in October and my last appointment is later this month. Just make sure you have documentation for anything that you reported on your forms, and it should go smoothly. I'm just hoping that I can make this next board.

Still no idea when the actual SWO and Pilot/NFO boards will be meeting other than "February". A good guideline would be to work with the assumption that the boards will occur on the first business day of the month, meaning February 2nd. From there, your kit needs to be with the NRC processor a week prior and to the NRD another week prior. So for those applying, I would aim for completing everything (physical, ASTB, paperwork, etc.) the week of January 19th.

@RUFiO181 I've had my application submitted and processed since mid-Nov (just missed the last board), so I'm all set. When do you expect applicants to hear back whether we are accepted or not if the SWO/NFO board meets in February? Thanks again for all the info.

Hey all, my kit is ready to go and the community here has been a huge help in the process. However, recently I spoke with my recruiter and he is telling me that if I submit now my kit will have a hold put on it. My recruiter says that his chain of command has said they have been asked to only put in more "diverse" kits for the remainder of the fiscal year (speaking in terms of ethnic minorities). Since I am Caucasian with zero Native American, African American, etc. blood, I will not get my kit pushed through until the next fiscal year. Essentially it sounds like it is an affirmative action issue. Is this specific to my NRD? For instance have they met "goal" for an applicant profile as they would for a given designator? I feel that my recruiter and I have a good relationship and that he really knows what he is doing, but I hadn't heard of anything like this before. If it means getting my kit in on this fiscal year, I wonder if it may be worth speaking with another NRD since my kit is finished and is waiting to submit. @RUFiO181 or @NavyOffRec , have you dealt with something like this before?

never dealt with this, sounds like an NRD making their own rules, which NRD are you working with.
