North Korean Rocket Launched

It probably would not be feasible or useful. Unless they are specifically designed and built to be recovered there is usually not many big pieces of a rocket/missile left after a launch, especially after it hits the water and particularly after a failure.

I was thinking more about the "payload" (which apparently did not deploy, if there was one) than about the missle itself. But it probably would not be worth the effort.

A commercial imagery satellite got lucky and captured the rocket very soon after launch and while still in powered flight:

Lucky Shot

The 'plume' probably looks a little funny to the angle of the shot and distortions.

I was thinking more about the "payload" (which apparently did not deploy, if there was one) than about the missle itself. But it probably would not be worth the effort.

Even then the impact would have probably destroyed the payload, which probably isn't worth recovering if it did survive anyways.
