November 2010 Board

I may have made a goof :X.

On my application under the "Applicant's Remarks", I elaborated on my college education since there was only one blank at the top. For some reason, I did not think to put the rest of my volunteer/philanthropy work in that box. My personal statement has several allusions to this community service, but it is not listed on my application anywhere except for here (I do list my college fraternity as an extracurricular). Do you think this will hurt me or do you think that they will pick this up and I'm making too much of it?

They should really add some instructions other than "Limited to visible area", even if it is just one line saying use this space to list anything else that you may not have been able to fit on the form above.

Just finished O-6 Intel officer interview (previous NFO active, now Intel reserve) packet all done/signed. Woo!

Mike- Hmm... in that section I included my majors and minor, sports involvement, volunteer, awards/school stuff, other lang experience, and relevent job info. I also had the "benfit" of getting to add a resubmittion letter (since tech. I applied for July, even if it didn't get looked at) which let me expand on some things.

Sounds like you have a lot of good LORS though, and a high ASTB, so I wouldn't be too worried for SNA, now for Intel...muahah! JK. :) If the worst should happen make sure to add them next time!

Dang, this is starting to look like a VERY competitive SNA board. I've seen like 4 65+ OAR scores so far with most of them having 8s and 9s across the board, and the members here are only a fraction of applicants. I know this question is a little premature, but does anyone have any idea how the Thanksgiving holiday will affect the result release? I'm assuming it will probably add a week, making the first week of December the big day(s). But then again, everyone knows what happens when you assume.

I thought I had already posted this, but I guess not. After switching to a MUCH more applicant oriented recruiter, I think everything FINALLY fell in line and I'm almost positive I will be seen for the November board.

Vols, the good news is that your indiscretions were over four years ago. So, assuming you don't have any new items on your record, it could show significant personal growth. Also, you have a decent GPA for a difficult field. My wife got her BS in Microbiology and Chemistry, so I know you're not taking easy classes. Also, your OAR and your other scores look good.

Just remember, It's the whole person concept. I got picked up with a 7/8/8 59 and a 3.0 GPA. A friend of mine had 6/6/6 52 and was picked up in June. So, they take all types.

I too have been wondering about this. I think either one of two things will happen (keeping in mind that I have no idea which is more likely):

1) Exactly what you said and no one knows until 1st or 2nd week in Dec.
2) The board may want to get it all behind them by thanksgiving so they can enjoy some family time. They double time and we all have another piece of news to share with the whole family on turkey day.

I think I'm with everyone else in hoping they come out before Thanksgiving *crosses fingers*.

Unforunately it looks like my packet won't be in for this board. Good luck to everyone, I'm looking at all these stats and this board has quite the all star lineup!

My OR told me the cut off was this coming Monday (10/25), so as long as he is correct you should be good.

Nice app package btw. I've seen so many good looking apps in this thread, so exciting!!

I think zachw might be referring to when the board tables/doesn't look at more than a certain number of applicants. This happens from time to time. In fact, I do believe that there are a few people fromt he September submits that wer enot looked at that will be for this board. But if already submitted, than there isn't much any of us can do to change it.

but yes, Monday is the cutoff, but it is in TN time so watch out for that.
