Oh great... I don't know if it expanded before I sent mine in. You can do a whole lot more with that space... Oh well...

How are all you guys getting to do your PFT and your MEPS? I have been begging to do mine, but my recruiter said they won't do it til you pass the board...

I am still working on the pushups but I too have asked about getting MEPS done ahead of time (previous one time inhaler use is sure to cause troubles) but no go until pro-rec. Thankfully I already had the doc sign note that it was cause of a chest infection, but sure will still need to take the tests.

Just more waiting I suppose...

Having that information with you should prove to be very helpful. I once went to the doctor as a teen, and they recommended giving me an inhaler for the same thing Lucy, and I refused because of what I knew about getting in to the military. I'm glad I did now. Seeing the headache that some people have to go through just to get an approval for something that's a non-issue. Bleh!

I think this varies between recruiting offices. I had my PRT and Medical taken care of before I submitted on my first board. Regardless of how your OR runs the process I don't think you have much to worry about, just make sure you stay on top of getting your medical, the PRT is easy.

I thought MEPS was supposed to be done before submitting the application. I went through MEPS and everything checked out great for me. I can personally verify that you should no longer have to do a PRT pre-acceptance; from what I've heard, something happened somewhere that has caused the Navy to no longer do a pre-application PRT.

Also, congrats to the people who applied in the Oct boards and received some good news today!

Granted I came in a year ago, but I didn't have to do a PRT until I went to MEPS. I'm sure there are liability reasons for that.

MEPS and PRT depends on your NRC. However, all pre-ocs PRT is suspended for right now, with an "unkown" restart date.

I was just told today that the PRT required for FS is suspended. The Pre-OCS PRT is still going on so we have some conflicting information.

I submitted mine right as the packet changed, so do you think they'll understand that my new application had a 400 word statement?

Don't worry about it. Brevity isn't a bad thing. If you really think the board wants to sit there and read through 100+ essays that are a thousand words, you're mistaken.

Mine came in at around 450 words. Anything more than that just felt like rambling (and 450 did at some points as well). Honestly, if you've got 1000 words worth of explaining to do, you're either super awesome/bad (and your packet already reflects that), or you're incredibly long-winded.

tbc-Ah, well either way. I won't be going until next Aug at the earliest so no worries for me, and I have a feeling most people won't until the spring either. Would be nice to have the first PRT on record as higher than a GL.

Let's all get this straight: I was told that there is no pre-OCS fitness by my recruiter. I'm going through San Francisco's NRD. Who has/hasn't heard that fitness testing is suspended?

I'll share this as well: 24/m, 7/7/9/63 going for pilot. LOR from College President (also a cleric), College Dean, retired Captain, current 0-2 flying F-16s (also lifelong friend/ teammate). Plenty of college involvement, current company manager, handsome despite excess body hair.
