Just received a call from my recruiter- I'm in for BDCP Intel! Still awaiting a ship date but it has to be FY26 due to me still being in school- that must have helped my chances. Wishing best of luck to those who have yet to hear back- My recruiter said that intel allegedly made their selections decisions this morning so hopefully those waiting will hear back soon.

What
Hey y’all. I received results today that I wasn’t accepted. I wanted to let people know so they know to reach out to their recruiters and selfishly to see if anyone is willing to give their thoughts on the selection criteria.

I had a 59 OAR and a 3.9 GPA from a top 10 college in the US. I understand those two metrics aren’t everything, but I thought that would make my application pretty strong. Does anyone know the other key parts of the application they look at or if there are any common reasons applicants aren’t accepted?

Also please let me know if this kind of post is in violation of any thread rules.
What is your degree in?

Congrats to everyone! If someone has a picture of the list could you please send it to me? I asked my recruiter to confirm and she said she hasn’t seen anything yet, then asked me to send a picture of the list if I see it here.

Where you went to college really is irrelevant to how your application is looked at, they had for 1 designator a list of approved degrees from specific schools they looked for but not anymore.

I had a person with a degree from University of Phoenix that was picked over a person from Harvard, the U of P had a better GPA.

In both your cases your degrees and GPA's are very good, did either of you have any waivers?

I had waivers for thyroid & tatoo and sworn in as enlisted, then recruiter submitted my profile for ocs. They called me, it was a number from Texas, they acknowledged that I was working with the enlistment side and suggested me to go through journey path from enlistment to officer and contact my enlistment recruiter to proceed.

Has anyone seen the IP or INTEL selection list? I’m active duty so I’ve been checking for my results online and there still isn’t an update.

Once they found out you had a degree they should have stopped processing for enlisted and had you talk to an OR before proceeding. They have likely added a few years to your process to become an officer.

I would take a look at those who have been selected and see what they did. Did you need any sort of (non medical) waivers and such?
I needed 4 medical waivers. One of them was for a brain aneurysm. It took me 3.5 years and 4 different recruiters to finally get medical clearance. I had thought that once I got those waivers accepted and granted medical clearance all was settled on that front, but it sounds like that could have still been a factor in the selection process.

Boards don’t look at medical records. They only know that you’re medically/physically qualified for the role.
