I'm being careful with my random button clicking now--congrats on the increase in boards! Best of luck to all those who will be going up at them.
Just submitted my package for the December board. Had to jump through some hoops to push MEPS date up, but it is a load of my mind. NavyOffRec, any gouge on how long it usually takes for news to surface after the board convenes?
about 2 weeks
How does that work with December boards and the holiday leave? Is it still about the same or will there be a slight delay due to leave periods for those involved in distributing the information?
that is why I say "about", you never know what is going to happen, generally between Thanksgiving and New Years NRC is a ghost town
Which has me worried with my package due Jan 7th...
Also, I'm a bit confused about the whole interview thing. My recruiter told me I needed two, with at least one of those coming from an OCEANO officer. However, the application form says only interviews for PAO and supply?
Don't worry about the NRC being a ghost town, as long as it is sent in by your processor in time it will be ok.
Yes, only PAO and Supply require interviews, now reserve IDC requires interviews. However some NRD's have done bizarre things not in line with NRC directives, one NRD directed every SWO applicant needed to have a SWO interview and had people miss board because of it.
The OCS checklist DOES NOT require a single officer interview for the designators you are going thru, and if it is required the NRD has to set it up.
You are going thru NRD Denver so who knows what they are doing, or your recruiter thinking you are falling under the 1420.1b but you don't because you are active other service.
Thank you for the info. Yeah, he had me set up two interviews (I'm in a unique position to work along side Naval officers), I even mentioned the guidance, but he says I still need it. I already have one done and the other will be done next week. I guess since they're already going to be done, is there any foul in this? Or if it is submitted those items will be put to the side since they're not required?
In your case and with who is going to be reviewing your application I would say this should benefit you, but I have seen some poorly written interviews that have made things go sideways.
In general the interviews should be 0-4 and above.
To the best of my knowledge, it also applies to SWO, but the requirement has been waived for the December board. Might wanna wait for NavyOffRec to confirm that though.I'm applying for SWO-IP SWO-IW , INTEL , IW , AMDO
