1.) The officer that is transferring is qualed to the brim: SWO pin, OOD, and even EOOW even though she was in CS dept. There are no more prerequisites left for her to do, if she only needed 1 DIVO tour she would be at IW school right now.

2.) In your quote above it mentions 1600 Special Duty Officer (IP), the designators were changed from 16xx to 18xx back in 2010, so your info must be a little dated.

3.) Did you go to the website that has all the current PA's?? Just read what they say and you will see the inconsistencies with what you are going by. http://www.cnrc.navy.mil/Program-Authorizations.htm.

Again, I am selected for direct accession so none of this will directly affect me. However, i am not really sure why it means so much to me to get the correct word out to everyone; maybe that's why i know i will be a good officer that will always take care of my people. Do everyone on this site a favor and stop going off the "Possible" dated papers you are referring to and just contact the source for the 100% correct answer. V/R

All those documents I quoted are current, yes there are typos, the PA's were revised in Feb 2013 and the service agreement is from 7/2011

FYI the source IS the service agreement, doesn't matter what is said verbally it is the document that is signed by the member and the witnessing officer that is binding, you should know this as someone that is enlisted as you should have had the same brief when you enlisted/re-enlisted about that anything that has been guaranteed to you MUST be in the contract.

To piggyback on this, NavyOffRec, no doubt you are helping a lot of people out on here, which is great, but I've noticed you put out some bad gouge, at least for SWO stuff, I can't speak as an authority on the other communities.

No big thing for those of us that do this for a living, but I fear you may lead some of these guys astray with dated info.

not talking about SWO stuff, IDC stuff and only saying what is in print and signed by those going into the communities that is current according to NRC.

I will say the IDC community has many times been in conflict with NRC by failing to update NRC with changes to the communities as well as not following NRC instructions on selection goals, if things did change then people going into SWO options are going to get a big wake up call because the LEGAL document they are signing is not what they are doing when they get to the fleet.

I do have an email in to a friend of mine who is a senior officer in IDC to see why the discrepancies as to what people are seeing in the fleet and what they are signing.

I hope someone can clear it up because the PA's now say you x-fer in accordance with the relevant MILPERSMAN document which says that the transfer occurs only when you are within 6 months of making O-3, which would mean you'd be at your 2nd DIVO tour before transferring

Wow! There is a lot of confusion about this topic (SWO-IDC OPTIONS) but for me no matter what it is (1 DIVO tour or 2 for SWO) I am just proud to serve as a Commissioned Officer in the Navy when the time comes. ;) HOOOYAH!!!

Dude, you're apparently out of the loop. Stop digging this hole, you're wrong.

Not selected for IW or Intel. Now we wait for the SWO options board to meet. Anyone have any idea when that will be?

Sorry man, keep it up. Most of us wearing bars were told "no" in one way or another on our journey to get commissioned.

I'm really surprised they initiated the background investigation since you didn't get picked up... maybe you should make sure it's not about something else

I'm sure it was for the Navy. He asked if I knew if I was selected yet. I mean, he can continue on with his investigation, and let me have the TS clearance. I'm sure I can find a use for it somewhere

You'd be surprised, not exactly a plethora of good cleared jobs out there. I've heard rumors of DC in the post 9/11 IC expansion hay days... Automatic great six figure job if you had TS, not so much anymore...especially without intel experience.
