No worries on the plan B, I didn't have one the first time I applied for Aviation, and yet here I am again. Good LoRs and good line scores. I'd say you have a competitive kit.Alright guys give it to me straight. I applied for the july board and obviously like most people didnt get selected! My package is as follows :
ASTB: 54/7/7/7
LOR: Retired naval captain, chief district judge, 2 NROTC LTs that were my professors, and a Tomcat Backseater
GPA: University of Wisconsin 3.2-3.3 depending on how my transfer credits weigh in - Science Focused Communication Degree
MEPS: Perfect lasik corrected vision and waiver approved
Age: 21
Statement: Killer Motivational Statement
Im freaking out because I really dont have a plan b and I chose to apply for both SNA and NFO
What do you guys think???
Go back and read a little more. Your recruiter is misinformed as 29Oct is the date the board will convene. Assume AW is the latest and most correct source of information. Welcome to the wait!Good, honestly that July board was a total positivity killer! I've skimmed the rest of the thread but my recruiter called today and said there still wasn't an official date set for October.

Does a reconsider help or hinder me? You know dedication and all that jazz

Pretty sure you have nothing to worry about. All 8+ you are probably in for sure. Not being sarcastic, that is what I've observed over the 8 months or so.
Depends what you are applying for. ASTB is king when it comes to SNA and NFO. That is not to say GPA is not important, it really is, yet with those two (SNA and NFO) the ASTB is what catches the eye and gets you through the door. Also, if you get SNA you most likely will get SNFO as well and vice versa, they go hand in hand. Competitive scores vary; trip 6' and trip 7's are competitive and the OAR does not hold that much sway but you still want a decent score on that portion. Plus people on here are very aviation inclined and most people on AW have good scores. Yet who knows what the board needs or sees in someone because you could get a low 40's OAR and 5 and 6's yet still make SNA/SNFO. SWO seems to be fairly easy to get into, yet, with everything, it is the needs of the navy and it requires just a decent GPA and a decent OAR and available slots. For Intel it seems like you got to be the best of the best brains wise and even then it is a crap shoot. I am talking super high OAR (60's preferable 70's), Masters or PHD (can be undergrad but higher educations helps) with high GPA. SEALS basically got to be a smart bad ass for officer spot and 1 of 7 studs in the whole United States. You could apply to SNA too, might as well despite your eye especially if you can correct it. This is my take on it but Rufio, NavyOffRec can definitively answer your questions better than I can. Good luck to you man, hope this helps.Someone please correct me if I am wrong but are the ASTB scores, GPA and LORS the big three things they look at with an application? I know now that what a recruiter says are competitive scores and what are actually competitive are two different things. Questions two, out of SNA, SNFO AND SWO what's the level of competition? Is SNA harder to get accepted for than SWO but SNFO harder than SNA? Or does it just depend on the board? As soon as I found out my eyes weren't a perfect I submitted just for SNFO. Slightly geeking out though. I'm hoping more people go for SNA as their first and less people pick SNFO as their one and only.

I am finally mailing my application this week, but I have two questions. What do you do with pages on the OCS application for the high school transcripts and college transcripts? If you already included "certified to be true" copies of your college transcripts, why would you need that in your package? I only ask that because the pages are numbered. Also, did you guys include your NAVCRUIT 1131/6 and your DD 2808/ 2807? It's in the fleet officer candidate school application checklist, but no one at work seems to know. Medical is giving me a hard time and telling me that the privacy act prevents me from sending it. I really don't care who sees my cholesterol numbers. I just want to go to OCS! If you guys could get me some feedback on this I would greatly appreciate it! Good luck to all those that applied!!!
Okay! Thanks for the information!! Did you email your application to COMNAVCRUITCOM via officerapplications@navy.mil? I didn't even know that was an option. I was just going to mail it like all the other STA-21 packages I submitted. This is great news if so. That will give me a little more time to get everything combed through one last time. The USPS takes a while to get stuff to the Continental US from Guam.Yes! Include all your medical documents in the same email but in a separate pdf from the /1. Also, just put N/A on all the high school and college transcript request pages.
